TO THE VOTERS OF
Supervisorial District No. 1
I camp to the Klamath Basin In 1911 and have resided In thli
part of the country ever at nee.
I have followed varloue kind of work and
was foreman for the Bureau of Reclamation
whrn the first laterals were built prior to
1917 when the first homesteads were opened.
In 1920 I became engaged In agriculture
and have had a crop of some kind ever since.
A Ion with my farming I have had experience
In other lines of business which has helped
acquaint 'me with the problems that arise In
the transaction of various kinds of business.
As a J'ng man I worked for other people,
which gave me a food training;, and also taught
me the value of learning the viewpoint of
others, as well as their problems.
As a storkraiser and farmer, I have been honored by my
neighbors and fellow ranchers by being elected to serve them as
their director In the California Cattlemen's Association of Dis
trict One, and am now In my second term of office. I am also
a member of the executive committee of the same organization
and also a member of the executive committee of the American
National Cattlemen's Association.
While I have had no political experience. I feel that because
of my diversified business experience that I have the necessary
executive ability to transact the business of our county In an
efficient manner, and will try to do for this district what I per
sonally would like to have done if the business were my own.
I was asked to be a candidate by the business men of ButU
Valley and Tulelake, and because of the great need of a supervisor
from the northeastern section of this district, I consented to be
come a candidate, and to offer my services to- the people of thla
district, If they feel that I am the man.
1 have nothing to gain in a personal or material way from
serving as your supervisor. Dne to the manner in which my private
and business affairs are organised. I have the time to devote t
the duties of this office. I am thoroughly acquainted with the
problems and needs of our district, and because I want to be of
service and feel that I can be of assistance In working out these
problems, is the main reason I am willing to give my time to the
people of this district
1 will conduct the affairs and duties of the office, of your
supervisor to the best of my ability, and In return I ask 'for your
rote at the primary election, June It IMS.
