OREGON WEDNESDAY, MAY 19,1948 Sunday Rites Read At Presbyterian The, First Presbj-terian church was the scene of wedding Sunday afternoon, May t, at 4 o'clock when Velma June Best, only daughter of Mn. K. P. Williams of thlt city, became the bride of M. Frederick Haiuon, ton of Mr, and Mn. H. M. Hanson of Long Creek. Before an altar decorated with pink and white snapdragons, palms and tall whit tapers, Rev. David F. Bamett Jr. read the double ring rites. A few close friends and relatives of the couple were in attendance. Carl Hagel sang "O. Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer." accompanied wby Mrs. Oeorge McTntyre. who later played traditional wedding music. Mid -Week SOCIETY' Activities A full week or activity Is sched uled for Friendship court No. 11, Order of Amaranth, The regular monthly meeting of the court will be held Wednesday, tonight, at 8 o'clock in the Masonic temple. Fol lowing the business meeting there will be a reception for Grand Royal Matron Bemice Finch and other officers of the official family. Saturday at 6:30 a potluck supper will be held at the Masonic temple for members of the order and visit ing grand court officers. This will be followed by the official visit of the grand royal matron and grand royal patron, Wallace S pence, to Friendship court. Sunday morning at :S0 a no-host breakfast wlU be given at the Wil ls rd hotel honoring the visiting grand officers. All members and visiting members are invited to at- tend this breakfast and reservations may be had by calling Grace Ber man either at 6353 or 6308. Celebrated MIDLAND Jackie Mistier cele brated his fourth birthday Saturday with party attended by 10 young friends. Games were played and prizes went to Arthur Gllbrath and Ken neth Heaton. After gifts were opened, pictures of the group were taken and re freshments were served. Mrs. Mist ier was assisted by Mrs. Robert Gll brath, Mrs. Mike Keideman and Mrs. John Mistier, Jackie's grand mother. Those present were Mike Heide man Jr., Arthur Gllbrath, Suzanne Gllbrath, Peter and Kip Huskey, Kenneth and Larry Heaton, Gary Nelson, Butch Hafen and Ralph Mistier. The bride was given In marrlase by her grandfather, I. C. Williams. Her gown was of white embroidered chiffon, fashioned with a high neck line, a fitted bodice and skirt fall ing Into a long train. She carried a white handkerchief wristband bordered in old English lace, a gift from her grandmother. Mrs. I. C. Williams. A Japanese pearl necklace was her only jewelry. A lace-bordered fingertip veil fell from her beaded halo headpiece. Rapture roses, ornathnglum and bouvardia formed her bouquet. Hazel Williams, aunt of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a gown of light pink, and Phyllis Ball was bridesmaid in a gown of similar light blue. Each carried a colonial bou quet of flowers contrasting with the shades of their gowns. Little Janet Jean Justice, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Her floor-length frock was of white organdy and she carried basket of rose petals. The bride's mother wore a suit of beige with matching accessories and a corsage of sweet peas. Her grand mother wore a silk dress of gray with matching accessories and a corsage of Cecil Bruner rosebuds. Best man was Joseph Williams, and ushers were Howard Justice and Everett Lozer Jr. Immediately following the cere mony the young couple received at the church.
