A nursery New Pastor Reaches Here Rev. Irvln Tweet, new pastor of the Klamath Lutheran church ar rived this week from his former home In Brush Prairie, Wash. Installation services for the new pastor will be held at the 11 a. m. Divine Pentacost service this Sun day. Officiating will be Dr. H. L. Foss, president of the Pacific dis trict of the Evangelical Lutheran church of America. Rev. Tweet succeeds Rev. S. M. Topness, who left some time ago to accept a pastorate at Huxley, la. Interim pastor has been Rev. H. J. Thorpe, who returned Monday to his home in Orland, Calif. The new pastor will preach on the theme, "A Living Church." The aenior choir, directed by Erling Mellby, will sing two anthems. At 3 p. m., this Saturday, the Lutheran Children of the Reforma tion will meet at the church. Hos tess will be Mrs. Otto Erlandson. The Boy Scouts meet at 1 :45 p. m., Monday. Miriam circle will hold a luncheon at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the home of Mrs. L. K. Ellsen, 1745 Crescent. At 8 p. m., Tuesday, the Ladies Aid, with Mrs. Otto Erland son and Mrs. J. D. Huck. hostesses, meets at the church parlors." Senior choir rehearsal will be at 7:45 p. m. Wednesday. for babies and pre-schoo! children Is conducted during the worship service. The Senior High WesUnin stet fellowship and communicants class meets at 6:30 p. m. The Junior high group meets at 7 p. m. The adult communicant's class, taught by Rev. Barnett, meets at I p. m. The final meeting of the teacher training class will be held Monday at 7:30 p. m. Teachers from all de partments will discuss plans for Children's Day. vacation Bible school, and summer Sunday school activities. Women who have entered the church during 147 and 1948 will be honored at a tea in the church par lor, given by the Women's associa tion, Thursday at 2:15 p. m. All women of the church are Invited. Mrs. Hnl Ogle will lead the program on "Planting the Will," with Mrs. C L. Harvey In charge of the de votions. Soloists will be Mrs. Wil liam Creawell, and Ty Keller, eight-year-old boy from Tulelake. They will be accompanied by Mrs. George Mclntyre. Also Included In the pro gram Is a shower for the Mission school in Cameroun, West Africa, where Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Moser, frcm this church, are missionaries. Articles needed are sheets, pillow slips, dish towels and towels. Thursday at 7:30 the session will receive new members Into the church. Church Of Christ Services Open All are welcome to attend regular services at the Church of Christ, 2205 Wantland. The worship serv ice will be held at 11 a. m., Sunday, with J. P. Hargrove in charge. Dr. Muter, in addition to his close association with Uie Lutheran Hour, Is a professor at Concordia Theologi cal seminary In Louls,Mo. The Medford rally will be his only ap pearance In Southern Oregon. Information may be obtained by contacting Rev. Victor Schulze of the Zlon Lutheran church. The pre-rally banquet will be held from 5:30 to 7 p. m. In Uie Medford hotel dining room, followed by the rally at 8 p. in. at the high school. The Southern Oregon Philhar monic orchestra and choir will fur nish inuslo for the occasion. There will be no charge tor the rally, and everyone Is Invited, There will be a charge for the dinner. Intermediate Day At First Baptist Sunday has been set aside as In tel mediate Day at the First Baptist church, 8th and Washington streets. Special emphasis is being placed on a record attendance at Sunday school for the young people. Plans Bif being made to have them par ticipate In the services. Sunday night the intermediates are to be 111 charge of Uie opening services. At that service the choir Is to be composed of young people and the music Is under the direction of Franklin Mlchnelson. The pastor will speak on the subject. "So Great Salvation." The public Is cordially Invited to Attend thr services and oartlcinate 'in the Intermediate Day services. Whitsunday Rites Slated Services for this Sunday, the Feast of the Pentecost or Whtisunriny. will open with 8 a. m. celebration of the Holy Communion at St. Paul's Epis copal church. Church school for all ages is at g:45 a. m. At 11 a. m. there will be a service of Confirmation, when a class of adults and children will be present ed. The Right Rev. Lane W. Bar ton, D. D bishop of Uie missionary district of Eastern Oregon, will bo here for the service and will preach fur the day. The Young People's fellowship will serve a politick supper for Uie bishop and members of the YPF of St. Luke's church, Lakevlew, at 8:30 p. in. In I lie parish hall.
