Dream of a Lifolime Dept.: Mrs. Clarence P. Ward Is realising her
dream by sailing Friday from San Francisco on the MS Hlndaiigcr,
Norwegian freighter, for a several months' stay In South America. She
will slop first at Valparaiso and from there around the Horn to Buenos
Aires where she will spend 40 days.
Mrs. Ward's next stop will be at Santos where the freighter will
take on a cargo of coffee. At Rio, Mrs. Ward will visit for a time with
old friends. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Pctroff, and a stop at Trinidad and
home through the Panama canal tone. She expects to be back In
Klamath Falls the last of August.

Moslem celebration of New Year's Day which, according to that religion,
falls on March 31. It lasts for several days and there are contests, slock
shows, bull fights and native dancing. A feature of the stock show Is
the presentation of live animals dyed all sons of colors. If the animals
or birds are not dipped or painted, they are plastered with colored
papers. Still more than a year before the Smiths come home.
The many, many friends of Ellrabeth Ramsby are pleased to learn
(hat she was able to leave Good Samaritan hospital in Los Angeles
last Tuesday after more than five weeks of hospital care following !
surgery. She is now at the home of daughter Betty, Mrs. T. R. Oillen-
waters, and cards will reach her If addressed to 113 Lincoln Place.
Monrovia. Calif. It will be quite a few weeks yet before Mrs. Ramsbj
can return to Klamath Falls, according to her son, Martin, who was
with her at the time of surgery.
With all this moisture flitting around underfoot, surely this will
be a good year for mushrooms along the famous Tulelake dikes. Last
year we drew a perfect blank, a few old dried-up affairs that added up
to little more than dust in the eye for a days work.
Bridge table talk offers' two schools of thought on the freezing of
these wonderful morsels. There are those who use the pack-in-water
method, and others that freeze them Just like you do fruits or vege
tables. It's counting your chickens before they hatch as far as we're
concerned. Primary Interest is getting enough to smother a steak if
we get a steak, and to scramble In eggs with lots of parsley and minced
onion. Please pass the garlic salt!

Margaret, the W. L. Bullards' girl, and a Reed college freshman,
last Saturday was one of fifty coeds from 38 colleges participating tn
Mademoiselle magazine's fifth annual college forum In New York City.
The honor came on the heels of Margaret's selection last month over
several uppercJass competitors, to represent Reed at the third Pacific
Northwest College congress at Whitman college. She was the only
Northwest student at the New York forum which was devoted to the
European recovery plan.
Omitted last week mention among the new houses going up. the
residence for the Dick Miller Sr. family on Eldorado Just beyond Del
