Falrview and Conger schools have charge of the na tional publications luncheon wltft Mrs. Mvron Hull as chairman: Roosevelt school, charge of ban quet with Mrs. Arthur Relnhart, chairman; Falrhaven and River aide schools, charge of presidents breakfast. Willard hotel: Shasta school has publications: Mrs. J. K. Sayre. special hostess to the na tional vice president; Mrs. Harvey Ayres. credentials chairman, as sisted by Mrs. Henry Gerber. Choral Group Concert Set The annual concert of the Klam ath Choral society will be presented n Mov IS in the auditorium of the Oregon Vocational school This hall j has been chosen for the perform- i ance because of its ample seating capacity and fine acoustics. The feature piece on this program will be the colorful Robinson num ber. "The Lonesome Train." This will be done in costume, and among the individuals starred will be Gray dou Broyles as the negro preacher and Phil Hitchcock as narrator. Net proceeds from the concert will be applied on a benefit fund, the nature of which will be announced within three or four days. The chorus, a non-profit organi sation, has a membership of 45 men and women. It is considered one ot the outstanding cultural assets of the Klamath community. It Is under the direction of Andrew Loney and rehearsals are held every Monday evening. It is not to be contused with high school groups, as It is composed of mature singers living in the Klamath area, who enjoy singing fine music. PTA Speaker Cm. i'eSfi'. Beef Club To Hold Party The Merrill Baby Beef club is going to hold a public card party. Thursday. April 29. at the Merrill high school. The admission will be SO cents per person and the pro ceeds will go to buy sweaters and caps for the Beef club members. There will be bridge and pinochle and there will be high and low prizes for both men and women in each. There will also be a door prise. The members, under the di rection of President Bill Gasset. have been very busy selling tickets and making final arrangements to make this party a success. Refresh ments will be served at the close of the evening. The Merrill Beef' club hopes to have a big turnout for this party, so reserve the date April 29 for trie big card party at Merrill, sponsored by the Merrill Baby Beef club. Danny Barry. Ralph Eckert. consultant in parent education, bureau of adult education of the California depart ment of education. Is one of the principal speakers to be presented at the 3Sth annual convention of the Oregon Congress of Parents and Teachers, now under way in Klam atb Falls. Dr. Eckert speaks at 10 a.m. Wed r.esday. tomorrow, at the general session at the Little Theatre on the OVS campus. His topic is Educa tion for Family Living." and is in keeping with the convention theme, The World at Our Doorstep." The speaker is a graduate of the 1'niversity of California. 1931. taught in San Jose Slate college in the field of speech the next year, became interested in the relationships be tween speech and personality and worked In the field of personality development and mental hygiene. He received his masters degree from the University of California in 1934 and has continued his studies and teachings since that time. Dr. Eckert Is a member of the technical advisory committee for the forthcoming conference on family life to be held at the White House in 1948. He has served as consultant on community organization and family life education for a series of regions I workshops and has also served as president of the Stockton community council. He is the fnther of three children. Mrs. H. H. Hargreaves. president of the Oregon State congress, will preside at the Wednesday morning session. Fisherman Fishes Youth From Water KANSAS CITY. April 27 i.". A fisherman rescued an unconscious 18-year-old youth from 30 feet of water by snagging him with a hook and line on a bamboo pole. The youth. John C. Moses, fell 20 feet from a rock ledge Into Indian creek while fishing yesterday. Near by was Elvin A. Holker. 42. Holker carefully dropped the fish ing hook and line and caught Moses' clothing just back of the neck. Then he towed the youth downstream about 40 feet where he and other fishermen could reach him.
