000.000 in looted gold will be re
turned to Italy soon by the French-Brittsh-American
gold commission.
The announcement came six days
before the critical elections In Italy.

news conference the department has
received word from commission
headquarters in Brussels that the
Italian government's claim h r. s
been allowed "almost In full."
The three-power gold commission
wa set up three years ago to pass
on the claim to gold looted bv the
naris from various allied nations.
This Is the second distribution of
gold to Italy. About S4.000.000 was
allocated to the Italian government
last October 17.

president of the National Reclama
tion association said Monday he
thought congress would pasi two
important reclamation . bills this
year.
Harry E. Polk. Williston. N. p..
said congress is working on a com
promise version of the Rockwell bill
to extend the repayment period on
federal reclamation projects from
4 to 78 years. He said he expected
agreement on a 60-year repayment
period.
Another bill, he said, '"has a bet
ter chance of passage at this session
than the Rockwell bill." Il would
permit a farmer to use any "wind
fall" earnings to pay of! all or part
of the construction charges agninst
his property ahead of schedule.

of voting have been voiced, and tf
this survey allows that the Minimis

used from now on.
