Arch Work, director of the de partment of agriculture western states snow survey, said It would be the longest one-day Jump yet made by the seven men. He radioed Medford headquarters that the parly had arrived at the lake Sunday and rested until this morning. They started from Ash land last week on a projected 875 mlle route to Hood River and hnd covered 145 miles of the distance. (Nona) Corpening. 66, for many years a ro dent of the Olene dis trict. Mrs. Corpening had been In 111 health for quite some time and her death was not unexpected. The family came l Klamath Falls In I WO 'mm Ashevllle. N. C, and stayed lor short time In this city. Later Mr. Coriienlng bought 190 acres In thi Olene district and he also operated a store and stage sta tion there lot 16 years. Mr. and Mrs. Corpening leased land In the Tulclaxe area in 1025, later acquir ing 4700 acres on which they raised grain and hay and ran 1800 head of cattle, some of which they kept on ram-n holdli.gs In Modoc county near Alturas. Mi. Corpening died October 7, 1014 Nona P Phillip and Frank Cor pening were nu-rrled September 4. 1804. at Kuoxvllle. Tenn. Mrs. Cor pening was borr. there May 28. 1881.
