Gfu UemitU E. Meyers, testified today that Meyers offered him C0()0 to give false testimony at the general'! present federal court ' trial. Meyers lj belnft tried on charges of inducing Bleriot H. Lamarre, t former business associate, to lie al the senate Investigation last fall about the general's wartime profits from a plane parts firm. Meyers is former No. 3 purchasing agent for the army air forces. Mettee, now a civilian student at Ohio State university, said Meyers paid 4100 travel expenses for him to leave school last rail and go to the general's home at Huntington, i N. Y. There, Mettee related to the jury, Meyers coached him to tell investi gators that a (3000 blue Cadillac automobile was a "gift'' from the Aviation Electric company, a Day ton, O., plane parts firm. Lamarre has testified that he was "dummy president" of Aviation Elec tric but that Meyers actually owned the concern. Lamarre also has said Meyers drew $150,000 in wartime profits from that firm. Slayer Held To Grand Jury PORTLAND. March 10 iTi Arnold Inman, 35, has been held to the grand Jury after a Drelimlnarv hearing into the slaying of his busi ness partner at their automobile service station. Police testified to the cir cumstances surrounding the ham mer slaying of Everett L. Keith, 40, Inman's partner. Detective Thomas Tennant told the municipal court that Inman had orally confessed riking Keith with a hammer in a fight. Keith's body was discovered in a Willamette river slough last week.
