De Valera followers, far from downcast, were predicting the over throw of the coalition and new flec tions within the year. A five-party coalition, apparently resentful at De Valeras 16 years in office, Joined forces yesterday and elected John A. Costello, 56, a Dub lin attorney. Costello said his policy "will be a national rather than a party one." "Our first concern will be di rected to agriculture in our effort to Increase production and raise the standard of living of the rural com munity," he said. "I believe also that the new gov ernment will develop the friendliest relations with Britain and the Brit ish people and will do everything possible to increase trade between the two nations." The idea of an Irish government without the mystical, New York born De Valera, was still a little strange for many Irishmen. CHl'RCH Bl'RXS WEBSTER SPRINGS. W. Va., Feb. 19 yp The trustees of the Hendrix Memorial Methodist church debated inconclusively last night whether to repair the structure or build a new one. An hour later, the question was settled. Fire burned out the interior of the stone building beyond repair. Damage was estimated at $10,000. Hogs Injured In Truck Upset DECATUH, Oa., Feb. 19 (AV-Several hogs were Injured severely when the truck in which they were riding overturned near here yes terday. Social Hygiene Day Saturday Annual Social Hygiene Day has been set for Saturday, February 28. by the Klamath County Health association. Day's events will begin with a 12. noon, iuncheon featuring Mrs. Sadie Orr Dunbar, executive secretary of the Oregon Tuberculosis and Health association. Her topic will be, "Value of Program in County Health Association Development." At 2:30 p. m F. O. Scherer, di rector of social hygiene education of the state tuberculosis and health association, will speak on "Sex Edu cation in the Home." A dinner meeting will close the activities when Jay E. McCarthy, health education consultant in the California bureau of health educa tion, will speak on "Family Rela tions." All meetings will be held at the Willard hotel.
