Mrs. Koschiiick gave a very Informative talk regarding the symptoms, enre and cure of polio. The meeting ns called to order by the president, Mrs. Ronald Fish er. Mrs. James Hall read the min utes of the last meeting, and Mrs. Ous Anderson gave the treasurer's report. John Raffelto Jr. spoke on behalf of the Boy Scouts. His subject was Cubbing. "A Home Project." He is especially Interested in boys of Cub (Scout age. He showed a movie of "Cubbing in the Home." It gave par ents more of an idea of just what the boys must do to become Scouts. Mr. Raffetto had booklets for any one Interested In the duties of a Den Mother. Mrs. Harold Shaffer, county coun cil president, was a visitor to the meeting. Ph;' . Dannelley sang two num bers. The first an old-fashioned lul laby, "The Slumber Boat" and a modern one "Cha Baba Cha Bnba." Judy Bronner played two piano se lections, "The Wood Nymphs Harp" and "Hallelujah." The flag salute was lead by Mary Lou Williams and Edwin Logan. Mrs. D. E. Van Vectors room won the room count. There being no further business. the meeting was anjourned. and re freshments were served in the cafe teria. Altamont Altamout PTA met for its regular meeting and a brief observance of Founders Day. February 10 at 2:30 p. m. In the elementary gym with 'resident Mrs. W. M. Gibson pro viding. Mrs. Jack Chapman announced that Mrs. Josephine Penrod's third grade room and Mrs. A. C. Olson's fourth grade room won the PTA cash membership prizes, and also presented them with blue and gold pennants for their rooms. Mrs. Ol son said her room had decided on an aquarium and invited everyone to eome and see it after it is com pleted. Mrs. Penrod said her room I hasn't decided what they would pur chase for their prise. Mrs, Penrod's room won room count again for the elementary school and Mrs. Stella Bonne s sixth grade for the Junior high. Mrs. Hans Frei introduced Mrs. Robert Hull, Altamont 'a first PTA i to attend. Others honored with corsages were Mrs. Stella Bowne. Mrs. J. Penrod. Mrs. A. C. Olson and Mrs. Crawford, teachers who have taught booths, games, a request program and other Interest. A ham will be given away during the evening. C.llrhrlst The Otlchnst PTA observed Founders Day on the afternoon of February 10 .n the library room of the high school. Mrs. Whitfield's fifth graders gave a recitation fea turing an alphabet that spelled fxmnders Day. Mrs. Hamilton pre- at Altamont for many years, and , semed these same pupils in vocal who, with the exception of Mrs. Crawford, who has retired, are still teaching here. Mrs. Lucile Davison, director of music, presented all first grade rooms in the following numbers: Jack In the Box." "Flopsy Flora." "Chinaman" and "Little Tea Pot." These were much enjoyed by the numbers. Mrs. L. C. Franklin then introduced Mrs. V. I. Brader. first Gilchrist PTA president. Mrs. Brader spoke on PTA founders and the work done since 1897. After a short business session the meeting adjourned for the Founders Day special cake and gift offering. The social hygiene class will be sented with a gift of money to be used for basketball tournament ex penses to be held in Klamath Falls February 20 and 21.
