shelters for the kids with the pro-'

sociation approving a statement by

veterans' administration property

president of the national associa
tion, declared earlier this week the
VA appraisal policies were unfair to
builders and discourages them from
erecting homes needed by veterans.
The Portland group's statement
was In Carr's defense after com
ments by Portland mortgage firm
spokesmen and others supporting
the VA policies.

chopped celery, onion, green pepper,
carrots and whole spices.' (Tie spices
loosely in cheesecloth bag, easy to re-
move.) Drain off juice and fill hot jars.
Process in boiling water bath 35 min
utes. Put tomatoes, celery, onion, green
. pepper and carrots through colander or
food mill; adr vinegar. Cook until pulp
is thick enough to round np on spoon.
Fill hot jars; process in boiling water
bath 1 hour.
