By noon no lightning tires had been reported by lookauta In the Klamath Forest Protective associ ation or U. 8. forest service terri tories but all were alerted to watch for strikes. Forests are drying out fast from the week-end downpour and light ning strikes are usually spotted throughout a large area milking concentrated fire fighting difficult, Hal Ogle, KFPA superintendent, ad vised today, requesting motorists to report any fires seen to KFPA or forest service headquarters Immediately. Air Units To Stage Shows SALEM, July 31 (Pi The Oregon national guard's 123rd fighter squadron will observe Air Force Day tomorrow by flying over Port land, Salem, Eugene and all com munities between those cities, act ing Adjutant General Raymond F. Olson announced today. Oeneral Olson said the follow ing national guard air units now have been activated In Oregon, all of them based at the Portland army air base: M2nd fighter group headquar ters, 123rd fighter squadron, 123rd utility flight, M2nd aircraft con trol and warning squadron. 242nd air service group, headquarters de tachment of 242nd air service group, 123rd weather station, and 1810 engineer aviation company. Nationally, the national guard will have 24 fighter groups and 3 light bomber groups. Big Lakes Box Company Plant Changes Hands (Continued from Page 11 Surge W. Mason and Roscoe Maples. These men continued as owners and managers, the only changes being brought about by the deaths of Mr. Voye and Mr. Dwlght about a year ago. At pres ent, the officers of the company are West, ' president: Maples, of San Francisco, vice president, and Mason, secretary-treasurer. When the company was formed, It acquired Ita present box factory property near the Southern Pacific viaduct. It built the mill In 1920, at first purchasing logs from a number of soarces, Its first major logging operation was In 1025 on the Klamath Indian reservation, strangely enough in the same vi cinity as the present Big Lakes logging set-up In Squaw valley. Opened Sawmill In 1037, Big Lakes ppened a saw mill operation at Canby, and logs from that area were milled both at Canby and at the Klamath Falls plant. Weat, Voye and Mason, the resi dent owners, established a long record of community and civic ac tivity, anjl have also been promi nent In regional lumbering circles. West said today that the Big Lakes owners' plans for the future are Indefinite, but that he and Mason will continue to live In Kla math Falls. He said that he had no announcement to make con cerning the box factory, not In cluded in the deal announced to day. Increasingly Active The Klamath Lake Moulding company has become Increasingly active in the local lumber manu facture field in the past few years, and has taken a leading position In lumber re-mAnufacturing here. Its re - manufacturing operations are located on South Sixth street, and Its sawmill division haa been located at the Boy Scout mill, where It will continue until the change to Big Lakes on Lake Ewauna. This firm has been active In timber purchases In this arta, and recently contracted to buy 60, 000,000 feet from the Umpqua na tional forest In the Diamond lake country. The company la now building a logging road to bring this timber to Klamath rails via the Southern Paclflo from Yamsay siding near Diamond lake Junction.
