senate appropriation subcommittee
approved today a 1343,000.000 bud
get for flood control and naviga
tion construction, an Increase of
2O8,50,OOO over the amount In a
house bill.

man' requeat for 1250,000,000 for
Mississippi basin flood control work,
Chairman Ourney IR-BD.I (aid.
The ubcommlttee recommended
about 1300400.000 for all flood con
trol and M3.3u4.200 for navigation
construction during the fiscal year
which begin July 1.
The house bill, passed before the
president made his request, carried
122,209,800 for flood control con
struction and 117367,700 for navigation.
