American Weapons

quoted radio reports from communist-controlled
areas In China today
as saying enough American weapons
had fallen Into their hands from
captured Chinese nationalist troops
"to equip 10 divisions."
The Soviet government newspaper
quoted these reports in reply to the
recent statement of a Chinese gov
ernment commander In Manchuria,
who said the communists were re
ceiving arms from Russians and
Northern Koreans.
"The hypocritical complaints of

ously are directed to the wrong
address," the editorial said.

WASHINGTON, July 21 lTV-The
house merchant marine committee
today approved a bill to permit use
of alien seamen on American mer
chant ships. Such war-time author
ity expired May 31. The legislation
would apply only to those who
served on American ships during the
war.

To Sponsor Band
LAKEVIEW. July 21 The Lake-
view park board voted last Thurs
day night to sponsor the town
band, which was organized last
spring on a voluntary basis.
Carl Pendleton, cnairman 01 me

$100 for the project, and this, with
an additional 250 donated ty pri
vate, Individuals, will go toward
support of the band.
