HERALD AND NEWS, KLAMATH FALLS, ORECON THURSDAY, JULY 17, 1947 PACE FOUR C Of C Eyes Hearing On 0-C Timber Klamath chamber of commerce director! at their meeting Wednes day noon authorised chamber rep resentation at a hearing In Rose burg next Monday when the master timber cutting plan of the O. and O. administration will be up for consideration. It was brought out at the cham ber session that the proposed boun daries of various cutting units will be determined after the Roseburg hearing, and that local opinion on the boundaries should be properly presented at Roseburg. The indus trial development committee was asked to arrange the chamber's rep resentation, while County Judge U. E. Reeder Indicated the county would have representatives present In the discussion. It was stated that there are certain logical exten sions of thj boundaries of the so called -Klamath cutting unit" which may be logically urged at the Rose burg hearing. The O. and C. lands lie in western Klamath and vari ous Western Oregon counties. The directors authorised expen diture up to 1500 for publication of a pamphlet and other publicising efforts In behalf of the Oregon Vo cational school. Winston Purvlne. OVS director, said that tl.: school got off to a tine start this week. George Conner of the OVS com munity cooperation committee pre sented the request for funds. A motion by the directors called upon the Indian affairs committee of the chamber to make an early determination of what matters the chamber may present at the con gressional hearing here in August on the Indian reservation liquida tion bill. The committee will report to tlie directors before the hearing Is held. In another action, the directors commended the Swan Lake Mould ing company for Its lighting pro gram on S. 6th street The lights will be turned on this coming week end, illuminating the widened . thoroughfare from Washburne way to Altamont drive. John Crosby, new assistant to Manager. Charles Stark of the chamber, was introduced. Crosby ! will specialize on Industrial devel opment work. Slave Trial Continuing SAN DIEGO.
