KUHS Band To Portland And The Klamath Union high school band, 84 member strong, will leave Wednesday at 7 a.m. for Portland to participate In the grand parade of the Elk national convention Thursday at 2 p.m. Accompanying the group will be C. S. Elliot of the J. C. Penney com pany, who has volunteered to assist Andrew Loney. supervisor of music education In the city schools, In management of the trip. Also ac companying the band a cliaperone will be Mrs. Elliot, Mrs. Loney and O. K. Wareup. Olrl member of the band will be housed at the Portland YWCA, and boys at the YMCA. Meals en route will be provided for at the Eugene hotel. The band will be served meal at the YMCA cafeteria In Portland. Returning, the band will leave Portland early Friday morning, going by way of the Oregon coast as far as Florence, then to Eugene, and home. The band member will ap pear In the parade wearing uniform purchased for them by the local Elks lodge In the fall of 1845. Member making the trip are Ingertd Norland. Ed Robinson was elected chairman of the ele mentary board, and Reed, chairman of the Klamath Union high school board. A. W. Heston wa chosen clerk for both board, and Wilson Wiley Is the new attorney for both districts. Adams Ranch Trade Told TULELAKE, July IS A change In ownership of the Bob Adams ranch on the Oregon-California state line was announced Tuesday by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Adams. The 12S-acre ranch has been traded to Mr. and Mrs. Roy McNeill for the Hood apartment In Merrill, owned by the McNeills. The Adam ranch is part of the, original J. Frank Adams Sr. ranch, one of the oldest ranches In Klam ath basin. McNeill will take pos session In the fall after the crops are harvested. The Hood apartment consist of 12 unit and was originally built by O. D. Hood of Portland, owner of the Columbia utilities at Merrill. The McNeills have owned the building for several year.
