THURSDAY, JULY 10, 1947 HERALD AND NEWS, KLAMATH FALLS, OREGON PACE SIX Rodeo Prize List Proves To Be One Of The Largest Grandstand, bleachers mid fences were filled with spectator num bering over 9000 at the Klamath Basin Rodeo association's three-day 1047 western show. . Purses amounting to 16220 were offered In events for the three days and plus antry feea ol S360 for these same events the total amount accruing to contestant amounted to 11,580. This amouiit minus $160 was paid out at the conclusion of the celebration on Sunday night. The $160 held out was the day money plus the entry fees for Sunday In the five-eighths mile free-for-all race. Payment was delayed on this race due to participants contesting the decistou of the Judges. The dispute occurred when the race had to be re-run ou account of a false tart the first time, and during the half-hour rest granted Pat Hogue Hder chained horses, .he other contestant using the same mount as in the original start. Further consideration la being given this incident before the Judges who named the Hogu entry as winner advise whether any rules were violated In the changing of mounts.
