Heveral additional rules were adopted by vote of the managers In an attempt to aiiecd up playing the games and letten the bickering that has accompanied some of them In the first round. A time limit of one hour 10 mlnutea was placed upon the games, the plan being that with 10 minutes between games, an evening's pro gram may be over by 10 o'clock. In the event of a tie, the game will be played out as long as neceaaary and In a case of an Inning not being completed, the Inning will be played out. reaurdlriia of time, In view of thla time limit, the men decided to do away with the rule of calling a game .If one Leiim Is ahead by seven runs or more by the end of the fifth Inning. Another point discussed was the necessity and difficulty of keeping spectators In the stands and off the playing field. To remedy this situa tion, the managers agreed lo be re sponsible for keeping the area oc cupied by their teams clear of all unauthorled persons. Article 7, section 1 of the Oregon State Softball association's by-laws, which are definitely observed by the city league, states that there shall be no smoking on the field or the players' benches. This rule has not been enforced In the past but will be enforced strictly from now on. Hcsldes causing actual damage to the field, the matchstlcks left on the field by smokers constitute a haard to the boys who will be playing foot ball on the field next fall. The final game of first round of competition will be played tonight under the arcs at Modoc field. At 7:30 Moose will meet Rlckys at Ihe south end of the field, while Athleys will tackle the Bureau of Reclamation on the north dia mond. At present the Moose are In fifth place In league standings with three wins against aa many losses and Rickys have fallen to seventh place with three wins and five setbacks. Athleys have pulled up to fourth place with five victories and three losses while Reclamation is on the bottom rune of the league ladder with on. win and six losses. The fate of the hotly disputed Eagles-Reclamation game of Mon day night has not been decided yeU but Prank Drew, league president, and Sam Smith, league secretary will confer with the officiating um pires and then render a decision. The game was thought to have been declared no contest, but the umpire claims that he did not five such a decision.
