June 7 MV-A Texas dentist's assertion that he had found a way to keep teeth from decaying still provoked arguments today in the final session of the annual Ore on State Dental association's meet ing. Dr. Bernhard Gottlieb. Dallas, Texas, started it all yesterday In a speech before the assembly, describ ing a process that he said seals off tubules in the teeth and prevents decay from getting a foothold. He advocated two formulas one using silver nitrate, the silver then precipitated by calcium chloride, the other using zinc chloride, precipitated by potassium ferroeyanide. Dr. Gottlieb said either one of these should be applied three times annually during tooth-forming years. After the age of 20, application would be necessary only when new parts of the teeth become exposed at the gums, he said. The teeth must be completely clean , 1 and dry, and applications, which "K would require at least two hours, juld be made only by a qualified i dentist, ne sam. Considerable argument followed In the meeting hall lobby, reaction of other dentists varying from enthus iastic acceptance to rejection of the Idea. Some said It was a moouica tion of an old technique. Ella Redkey To Head Camp Ella Redkey, physical education Instructor at Jefferson high school, San Francisco, and member of a Klamath Falls family, has accepted the directorship of the Girl Scout camp at Camp Esther Applegate, Lake o' the Woods, the camp com mittee announced today. miss KedKey was educated in me Klamath Falls schools, is a graduate of the University of Oregon, spent one summer at Columbia university, New York, and took her fifth year of college work at UCLA. Miss Red key served as counsellor at' Camp Cleawax, Florence, Ore., Eugene's Girl Scout camp, was waterfront di rector at the local camp for two years and counsellor at the Medford Girl Scout camp. She also served at the aquatic school at Coeur d' Alene, Ida. Miss Redkey earned her college funds by life guarding dur ing those years. Hobbles Include photography, handicraft, metal ware, etching and leathercraft as well as wood carving. She assisted In the recreation program in Klam ath Falls while engaged as teacher in the public schools here. The camp committee today ex pressed gratification on Miss Red key's acceptance. She will be as sisted by a competent staff. Com mittee members are Mrs. Don Ken yon, chairman; Mrs. J. V. Owens, John Sarglnson, Mrs. Roy Carter, Mrs. Rollin Thompson, Mrs. W. M. Bond and Mrs. L. A. Murphy. Camp opens July 13 and continues for three weeks. Seventy-five girls are accommodated each week. Reg istrations are still open but the first week is closed. There are a few .accommodations available for two week campers, the committee an nounced. Balance of the fee for two-week campers must be paid two weeks before the camping period. Oen. O. P. Edg cumbe made the demand in reply ing to a letter from Soviet Lt Gen. V. P. Svirldov, acting chairman of the allied control commission, in which Svirldov said he was unable to comply with a request for the documents because he already had turned over the documents to the Hungarian government and was authorised to give them to "the Hungarian government only." He added that these copies were the only ones in the possession of the allied control commission of which the Americans and British are also members. The . June 7 A re-survey j of the timber resources on tho Pre- I mont national forest has been start-1 ed here by three men from the forest and range experiment station 1 of the Pacific Northwest regional office at Portland, it was announced this week by Merle S. Lowdeii, su pervtsor of the Fremont. This survey, last made here In 1935, is aimed at determining the amount and types of timber on the ; forest. It is started by a study of j timber cutting and sales at the Lakeview office, and will be con tinued by field trips and study of the forest through the summer.
