ELECTRICAL DEALERS OF KLAMATH FALLS US Asked To Save Fish Run SEATTLE, June 3 iP Enos Brad ner, writing in the Times, s..id the department of interior would "ask for a ten to 20-year postponement of the building of the dams on the middle Columbia and lower Snake rivers" so that the salmon run can be saved. "During this period." said Brad ner. Times wildlife editor, "the fish and wildlife service will attempt to salvage the migratory fish run of the upper river by establishing it in the lower Columbia." The completion of the dams as scheduled would mean the vir tual destruction of the mighty salmon and steelhead runs," Bradner wrote. He said the "save-the-salmon" plan was worked out by the fish and wildlife service with the cooperation of the states of Oreron. Washington and Idaho. Not all the proposed dams would be affected by the postponement. Construction has started on the McNary dam and it would be ex cepted, although Bradner said It would "reduce the run 15 per cent at the very least." even with in clusion of the best fish ladders available. Excepted also, as not damaging to the fish migration, would be the Foster creek dam. Boundary dam near the Canadian border. Hell's canvon. Wolf creek. Kerr, Houngry Horse and the Detroit site.
