Mav 7 it The navy is developing a 45-foot, lond carrytna rocket that can be tired (ram ahtnboant and reach an alti tude of 235 miles twice the height attained by the German V-3. The navy said today the rwket. named the Neptune, could carry a 100-oound toad to the 335-mile height or lift a ton upward 84 miles. No figures could be obtained on how far il could travel hoiisontally if used as a rocket weapon. A small model will be tested this summer at White Sands, N. M.. a navy official said, but a full-sonic Neptune will not be completed until next February. Flight tests are scheduled for June. 1M8. Navy School At Monterey Okayed WASHINGTON. May 7 i.-t The house armed service committee ap proved Tuesday a bill authoring the navy to establtsli a postgraduate school at Monterey, Calif.
