KlamaUi gslli, On. Nelson Says Pay Is Resignation Reason The lrglalature'a failure to okay a pay Increase which waa approved by the Klamath county budget com mittee was given by Newton B. Nel son a hla reason for resigning the office of tax aaneaaor. Klamath county has had money budgeted to give its elective offi cial a 150 a month pay boost, retro active to July 1, 1946, and contin gent upon legislative action. However, the legislature during It recent ealon did not approve the retroactive feature of the coun ty proposal. A $90 a month raise for the various elective officers wa granted, to begin this coming July 1. In other words, 6O0 for each of ficer, money which the county has and has earmarked for the retro active salary-raises, cannot be used for that purpose.
