Hhepard, traffic manager for West Coast Fast Freight, whose company Is attempt ing to obfliln permission from the Interstate commerce commission to establish such a throui'h run. Hhepard explained that although the compnnv could run their trucks through Klamath Falls between Los Angeles and Portland, they were forbidden by ICC ruling to load or unload merchaiKlli here. At the present tune. Khenard explained, Klamath shippers must send and receive either through Medford or Foiiland, entailing the addlllonal expense of the exlra shipping, and uecessllallug transhipment In tran sit. Mhepard Is on his way lo the final hearing of the company with the ICC In Portland May 1. and Is In Klamath Falls In an attempt to gather a group from this city who would care to attend the meeting and express their wishes and opin ions In the matter. This hearing. Shcpard said, was a continuation of the preliminary hearing held No vember 30 at Los Angeles.
