Twins Take Honors In Boby Contest Meat Price Cut Doubted WASHINGTON, April 25 () Tile agriculture department ore dieted Thursday that meat supplies will not be large enoun to cause a material price decline unless there Is a business recession. Latest reports indicate, the agen cy said, that coaumer demand for meat probably is at a record level despite current orices. Consump tion during the January - March quarter was said to have been the greatest for the period In at least 35 years, or at the rate of more than 150 pounds ptr person a year. The department said total pro duction of meat this year probably will be somewhat greater than last year, but not enouch greater to pull down prices noticeably unless there Is a rather sharo decline in consumer buying power.
