at the meeting, presided over by
Durwood Foster, president.
Another meeting will be held
within a short time when details
of summer plans have been ar
ranged by the chairmen. Time
and place of the meeting will
be announced later.

major leaguer, even if I haven't
actually played in the big leagues
yet," Robinson beamed. "I hope
I can justify everybody's faith
in me."
He is a former army lieutenant.

up a full game on the Padres,
who took an 8-4 lambasting

San Francisco was only one
game back of San Diego after
edging Hollywood, S - 2. Two
Ramos off the pace was Sacra
mento, which leveled Scuttle,
8-3.
Oakland's Acorns became
full - grown Oaks for the first
time in the young season by wal
loping Los Aniieles, 10-8, and ris
ing to the dizzy heights of a
seventh-place tie with Seattle.
The defeat left the Angels in
fourth place, but a mere half
game to the good of Hollywood
and Portland, in a fifth -rung

at campus critics of Fooball
Coach Ralph Welch.
A resolution signed by 92 foot
ball players blasted student mem
bers of the board of control for
the Associated Students of the
University of Washington, who
earlier charged, in protesting a
S2500 annual salary boost for
Welch, that he neither obtained
the most from his material nor
had the full support of the mem
bers of his squad.
The Washington s coacn got a
$2500 salary increase to $10,000
in spite of the student represent
atives' protest.
