Norman (R-Wash.), plan to introduce legislation, to au thorize establishment of a chain of pilot plant in Washington, Oregon ana laano 10 oeveiop now uses for wood and wood waste and improve forest prod uct. Norman said today his meas ure will provide that the work be done by the forest service of the agriculture department. "This may be done in cooper ation with colleges, private in dustry or independently by the forent service," Norman laid, "but the bill will contain pro visions which will prohibit competition by the government with private Industry." He said in a statement he envisioned time when, with low cost power, new wood products, increased farm pro duction and development of light and heavy metals indus tries, "a great era of prosperi ty will begin for Washington and its sister states."
