Attending the shower as lift bringers were Mrs. Chester Voting, Mrs. Edward Gordon, Mrs. Clifford Nelson, Mrs. Val Davidson, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Mrs. Lew Taylor, Edith Bartels, Maxine Golden and Frances Smith. Dinner Meeting The Saddle club held its February meeting last Wednesday night with a dinner at Sari's. Around 20 members were present to dis cuss 'coming activities of the club and plans for the Saddle club birthday party. Card Party The Ladies Aux iliary of CIO will sponsor a card party tomorrow night, Saturday, at the CIO hall, 234 Main. Awards will be given and re freshments served. The party will start at 7:30 o'clock. - Gift Show Jack Hooks, own er of the Cameo shop, plans to leave Monday for the San Fran cisco gift show after which he will go to Los Angeles. He ex pects to be gone about a week. .'.Woman of the Moos Offi cers and escorts of the Women of the Moose, lodge 467, will meet Monday at 7:30 p. m. in the Moose hall. All are asked to at tend. A. Lenz, were In town Thurs day from the Lenz ranch on Klamath marsh to buy tires for their jeep. - Son Born Mr. and Mrs. Al vin Culver, 1132 Crescent, are parents of a son, their first child, born Friday night at Klamath Valley hospital. Mrs. Culver is the former Louise Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Patterson of this city. This is the first grandson for the Pattersons. The little fellow, who weighed 6 pounds 14 i ounces, has been named Dennis Alvin. Card Party Catholic Daugh ters of America are planning a pre-Lenten card party to be held in the parish hall Friday, Feb ruary 14. at 8 p. m. Nora Man ning is chairman of the commit tee for the party and she will be assisted by Florence Pickett, Helen Euan. Caroline Joans. Louise Vaughn and Bonnie Van denberg. The public is invited to attend, and for information call Florence Pickett, 8231. To Washington Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Stockdale, 1530 Wiard, are leaving tonight, Saturday, for Centralis, Wash. They have been called there by the death of his mother, Mrs. Margaret Stockdale. The late Mrs. Stock dale was a frequent visitor in Klamath Falls in the past and had many friends in the city. Clothing Entrance! The 9th street entrance of the First Christian church will be open every day of the week except Sunday to receive contributions of clothing for shipment to Eu rope, it was announced today. The Klamath Falls United Council of Church Women is sponsoring this clothing drive. Aloha Chapter Members of Aloha chapter, No. 61, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet Tuesday, February 11, at 8 p. m. There will be initiation of candidates and a Valentine par ty. New Spud Grade Potato growers in Klamath county will express their opinion in regard to an additional potato grade at a hearing Monday, February 10, at 8 p. m in the circuit court room, Klamath Falls, the county agent's office announced today. . Surgery Bob Sproat, head of the Klamath Furniture com pany, is recovering from major surgery at Franklin hospital, 14th and Noe, San Francisco. Mrs. Sproat is in San Francisco at this time. , Lions Auxiliary The Lions club auxiliary will hold its regu lar meeting Monday, February 10 at 8 p. m. in the Winema hotel. Leave on Trip Mrs. Alice Capozzolo and son Tony left by plane yesterday for Washington, D. C, where they will visit with, friends. Mrs. Capozzolo will re turn March 1. Parkland, Wash., will present concert' it fine music at the Klamath Union high school auditorium Sun day, February 16, at 8 p. m. Tickets are on sale at both the high school and by members of the Klamath Lutheran church. The choir is made up of SO members and the director. The 20 men and 30 women are students at Pacific Lutheran college and this Is the 30th annual tour made by the choir covering Oregon. Washington and California cities. Crater Lake Weather Good Clear skies with a few scat tered clouds covered the Crater Lake national park area today, promising fine weather for skiers and tourists. The morning radio reports from the park indicated 100 inches of snow on the ground with an icy crust. Between 11 a. m. and 4 D. m. the skiing is reported good on the slopes, but unless there is a good fall of snow the trails will be rough and rutted. The minimum temperature for the last 24 hours was 24 degrees. the maximum rose to 48. The thermometers read 27 degrees at 8:30 this morning. , Roads in the park are all clear and in good condition, the re port said, and no chains are re quired. Drivers were urged to carry chains with them, how ever, in case of emergency. .
