Red Paper Hits Blandy Statements MOSCOW, Feb. 6 W) The navy newspaper Red Fleet as Kcrtcd today that recent speeches of Vice Adm. W. H. P. Blandy and Ma, Cen, George C. Ken ncy were war-monReriiiR sup port by U. S. "claims" on Green land and Pacific bases. The newspaper said Blandy, commander of the U. S. Atlantic fleet, spoke to a woman's patri otic conference and "did not spare color in describinK the 'mortal danger' which is threat ening the USA." The Soviet navy organ con tinued: "Describing a fantastic picture of future attack on America 'by the shortest air route through the north pole basin,' Gen. Ken nev stated: 'This attack may In volve 25.000,000 American vic tims i:i the course of 24 hours.' " "From which actual direction such an invasion was expected Kenney, of course, did not say because it was clear to him. as to everyone, that no danger threatens the USA. "The aims of frightening the average American by mythical invasion is entirely clear. It is exactly that way by which cer tain circles in the USA de pend upon receiving public sup port for their claims of Green land and Pacific bases." Red Fleet, commenting on Blandy, asserted that "from fur ther words of the vice admiral, it is clear that he is not at all opposed to the dependency of small countries on American military might." Youths Name Canteen Group Elected by students of Klam ath Union high school and Sac red Heart academy, a senior high adult canteen council was named Thursday to direct activ ities of the Teen-Age Canteen. This group will work in con junction with the junior council, already named. Chosen were, Jack Linman, chairman; Wally Hector; Mrs. Tom Kennett, Mrs. Phil Schroe der, Mrs. Howard Barnhisel, Mrs. Raymond Reeves, Fred Southwell, Glen C. Lorenz. Mrs. Frank Peyton, Wendall Smith, Percy Murray, Mrs. Jack Mur-' phy, Mrs. John Schubert. Mrs. B. B. Blomquist, Mrs. William Lorenzen. Mrs. Frank Z. How ard, Stanley Woodruff, Fred B. Robinson, the Rev. Father John Phelan. The group will meet Thurs day, February 13 at 8 p. m., in Klamath Union high school. Meeting with the senior group will be the junior council.
