DAY DREAMING?
Of course he is, just as a lot of other "teen
agers" are. He's wondering where he will '
be .. what he will be doing .. ten, twenty
pr thirty years from now. It all seems so
far off in the future but time has a habit of
flying. Our tip to this young man is to save
regularly. A cash reserve will always prove
helpful and may, some day, mean the dif
, ' ference between success and failure.

mission to give It a list of the
kinds on liquor on hand, as the
committee wants to know if a
lot of it Is off-brand stuff that
the public would spurn.
Budget Director George Aiken
told the committee the liquor
committee s profit estimate is too
low because its business has been
increasing steadily, and he
thinks the profit will be twice
that of last year. The liquor
commission thinks profits might
even drop below last year's.
The unemployment compen
sation bills, endorsed bv both
the AFL and CIO, would In
crease the maximum benefits
from $360 to $650 in any one
year, eliminate the one-week
waiting period for benefits to
begin, and bring virtually all
employers under the act. which
now is limited to employers of
four or more persons.
The proposed benefits would be
$25 a week for 26 weeks in any
one year. Present benefits are
$18 a week for 20 weeks.
State aid for foster homes
would be doubled by a bill in
troduced todav in the senate.
The joint education commit
tees held the legislature's first
public hearing yesterday, the
subject being how to distribute
to school districts the $15,000,

Burma Move
LONDON, Jan. 22 (At Britain
has agreed conditionally to the
incorporation of the frontier
provinces of Burma within the
independent Burma state now
being created, a government
source said today.
The conditions stipulated will
safeguard the rights of the people
living In those frontier prov
inces, he said, because they are
not in the same stage of develop
ment as the inhabitants of the
rest of the country.
Britain had planned originally
to partition the 260,000-square-mile
country. The frontier prov
inces were to have continued un
der colonial administration. The
present decision to incorporate
the frontier provinces thus repre
sents a reversal of policy.
Prime Minister Atlee and Brit
ish cabinet ministers conducting
the independence talks with the
Burmese delegation in London
are "satisfied" with the progress
so far made, the government
source said.

ana oouquets.
Tours of creameries, bakeries
and so forth for the group are
planned by Mrs. J. Martin
Adams, leader, for the ensuing
weeks. The Brownies are spon

Scrap books will be kept by
