of creating a safe place for

Injury Told
LaVerne Reed, 20, daughter
of Mrs. Sam Ackerman of 1030
Upham, was the first casualty
of the skiing season at Crater
Lake national park when she
fell and tore the ligaments in
her right knee Sunday. The in
jury was painful but not seri
ous, park officials said. Miss
Reed is at her home. She Is eiiv
ployed at the Tik-Tok.

Allan VV. McComb, brother of
the late Mary L, McComb, will
leave Wednesday tor his home
at Mnryvillc, Tenn., after a stay
of three weeks here.
McComb -arrived on December
21, a few hours before tho death
of his sister, who was victim of
a iiunfiro sliiyiuK by Don K.
Yancey, since sentenced to life
imprisonment.
McComb said ho was sorry he
had been unable to look up and
visit more of Ins boyhood friends,
but his time was under heavy
demand by the circumstances sur
roundinK the death of Miss Mc
Comb, who was county librarian.
McComb spent his boyhood in
Klamath Falls, and recalled to
day that as a hiKh school younu-1
ster he served as janitor at what
is now The Herald and News
office, but ws then the Klamath
Northwestern office.
