Continued cold, moderate easter ly wtnda off coaat. Eaglt Fly Jack Henry, chair man of the state organization president, left Friday morning board of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, and M. L. Shepherd, state by plane for Seattle where they will attend a 3-day meeting of the northwest zone for Eagles. On the way they stopped at Bend to pick up Webb Loy, secretary of the Bend area. The two men will return to Klamath Falls on the 7 a. m, plane Monday. Good News Mr. and Mrs. Jack Henry, 803 St. Francis, have received word of the birth of a son, David Lamarr, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Henry of Pocatclla, Ida. The baby was born In late December and weighed 6 pounds i ounce. The Walter Henrys are former Klam ath Falls residents and Jack and Walter are brothers. Charged Pearl Estella Chris tiansen, 3405 Anderson, was charged with violation of the basic rule when she was picked up on S. 6th street January 2 by state police. She Is slated to appear at 2 p. m. Friday in jus tice court. Officers said the woman was driving 45 miles per hour in a 25-mile zone. Bonanza Party At the Bo nanza lOOF 143 and Rebckah 107 Christmas party and business meeting, members discussed the proposed recreation room. After the brief business session mem bers and friends exchanged gifts, and refreshments were served. Cards and singing completed the activities. High School Group The young people's group of the Com munity Congregational church, "Comrades of tho Way." will meet at 7 p.m. Sunday under the direction of their counsellors, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shepard. All young people of high school age are cordially invited. Drum Corps There will be a rehearsal of the Eagles auxiliary drum corps at 7:30 p.m. Monday, January 6. in the lower FOE hall. Karl Smykil, Instructor, wll be present at tho meeting, and all members are urged to come and bring their drums. Regular Meeting The Eagles auxiliary will hold a regular meeting in the lower FOE hall at 8 p.m. Tuesday. There will be a baby shower for a member at that time. Entertainment and re freshments will be served after the meeting. Called to Lakerlew The Vir gil E. Veitch family was called to Lakeview Saturday morning due to the grave condition of Mrs. Veltch's mother, Mrs. Mary Post, who has been seriously ill for the past two weeks. Veitch is a linotype operator with The Herald and News. Return Mr. and Mre. Peter Gray and sons have returned here to their home, 2620 Bisbee, from Eureka, Calif., where they have been visiting relatives and friends over the Christmas holi days. Executive Board The Fair haven PTA executive board will hold a business meeting Tues day, January 6, at 1:30 p. m. A regular meeting will take place Friday, January 10, at 7:30 p. m. Community Players At 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, the mem bers of the Community Players will meet at the Community Congregational church parsonage to form plans for forthcoming dramatic productions. Returned Home Margaret June Standish has returned to her home at Halscy after a holi day visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Standish, 4661 Thompson, St. Francis park. Son Born Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Clark, 3242 Delaware, are par ents of a son born December 18, weighing 7 pounds 9 ounces. It was erroneously reported the Clnrks were parents of a daughter. Sunday Services - Sunday worship services at St. Paul's Episcopal church will begin with Holy Communion at 8 a. m., followed by church school at 9:45 a. m.. Holy Communion and sermon at 11 a. ni., young peo ple's meeting at 6:30 p. m. and at 7:30 p. m. the "Feast of Lights" service celebrating the Eplpliany. Everyone is invited. After the service there will be a fellowship hour in the parish hall when the traditional Epi phany cuke will be cut. Return Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Epperson of N. 1st, returned Thursday by car after a lengthy stay In Donnclson, la., where they were called In mid-November by the death of Mrs. Epper son's father, O. W. Mattern, well known here. En route home they stopped at Eglin field, Fin., where they spent Christmas with their son and family, Capt. and Mrs. George Epperson and twin daughters. They visited briefly in Old Mexico and at interesting points In Texas. The Brearcliffes spent Christmas in Red Bluff, Calif, with her mother, Mrs. Anne Swinney, and were joined the following day by the Shaffers, continuing on to San Francisco Sunday morning: Speaker Dr. Elmo N. Steven son, president of Southern Ore gon College of Education, Ash land, will be the speaker at the dinner meeting Monduy nlaht. Hicks. who put his plane down on the ico of Lake o the Woods Thurs day, reported to friends here that all homes on the east side of the lake are approachablo by car. He quoted Ed Morse, care taker, as. staling tnat roads to the lake are clear. About one and one-half inches of snow cov ered the ice of the lake Thurs day. Improving John Cnibb of the Empire hotel Is reported improv ing at Klamath Valley hospital where he has been a patient since September 25, when he suffered a mangled leg in an ac cident at Ewauna Box company. Crabb has been employed for a number of years at Ewauna as deck scaler. Daughter Born Mr. and Mrs. Robert Chilcote, 4636 Boardman, are parents of a daughter, their Iirst child, born Saturday, Jan uary 4, at Klamath Valley hos pital. Pine Shipping Near Peak PORTLAND, Jan. 4 Ml Pino mills In the western state will ship 1,200.000,000 board feet of lumber in the next three months. Thut's the prediction of the Western Pine association, which added this figure would be about 25 per cent greater than the peacetime record established last year, and about equal to the average wartime production. Association mills put ' out 5,860.000,000 feet last year and shipped 5,730,000,000 feet. Recovering Henry V.
