' Miller's Studio Sojourners Close Season With Party The Willard hotel banquet room, decorated with Christmas finery was the scene for the annual Sojourners Christmas party which officially closes the organization's year. The party, held on Wednesday, December 14, was attended by members and guests. Gifts were exchanged around the decorated Christmas tree. Mrs. G. B. Chapter Party Alpha chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma held its annual Christ mas party at the home of Mrs. Josephine Pcnrod, 1122 Lincoln, on Saturday evening, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. After a short business meeting conducted by Olive Wilson, pres ident, the meeting was turned over to the hostesses, Augusta Parker and Mrs. Nolle Olson. Irma Wauchope and Mrs. Flor ence Ollmonn won first prizes in the contests. By the light of a large Christmas tree the group sang Christmas carols and ex changed gifts. A delicious lunch was then served by the hostesses. In keeping with the holiday spirit, at each member's place was placed a sprig of mistletoe. Clipper Club The Mt. Lakl Clipper club met on Friday night at tho Hen ley grange hall at 8 o'clock, for its Christmas party. The club was organized early last spring lo help returning veterans and newcomers to this area become acquainted. All young married couples in Henley and the surrounding communities are invited to the meetings, which arc usually held tho second Thursday of each month. Tho Wednesday club of St. Paul's Episcopal church will meet at the church parish house on December 18 for the annual Christmas party and gift ex change, Mrs. Frank Tarr is in charge of the party which will begin at 8 o'clock in the eve ning. Larkin was chairman of the affair, assisted by Mrs. Don Zumwalt. Bluo and silver decorations set the theme with tiny silver Christmas trees, snowflakcs, clusters of blue ornaments and tall blue tupcrs in silver candelabra forming the attractive holiday setting. Mrs. Robert BuniBtcr supervised the decorations, Mrs. Harold Van Hoosen led the singing of Christmas carols which opened the entertain ment. The Rev. Godfrey Mac. thews, pastor of the Community Congregational church, enter tained with readings. The Klamath Union high school quartet, consisting of V.'endell Smith, John O'Connor, Fred Goodwin und Paul Duller, sang several numbers. The Pep band, whose members are Chuck Martin, John Eplcy, Bill Southwell and Gordon Robin son, presented several boogie woogie arrangements of old bal lads which were very much en Joyed. A white elephant gift ex change climaxed the program. Mrs. Aaron T. Hotlman, pres ident of the local branch, an nounced that the membership now exceeds the 100 mark. A copy of the roster of members with designated schools, as pre pared by Dorothy Bailey and Eva Burkhalter, was presented to each member. The January luncheon meet ing is scheduled for Saturday, January 18, at noon in the Peli can party room. Mrs. Robert Ellingson Jr. has charge of the program on that date. Holiday Motif Gay holiday lights and greens set the motif for the Girl Scout leaders Christmas party on Wed nesday evening, December 11. Table decorations were of tree ornaments and greens. In charge of the theme were leaders from Altamont school. Mrs. W. L. Terwilliger. music chairman, led the group in Scout songs ana games. The Christ mas carols that Girl Scouts will sing at the chamber of com merce carol service on the court house lawn were sung to add to the festivity of the occasion. Later there was. a gift exchange followed by refreshments. Mrs. Ona Bagley, intermediate leader at Mills school, had charge of the gift exchange. Mills school leaders were on the clean-up committee, and Fairview and Fremont leaders provided re freshments. All but two schools were represented by leaders at the party. Leaders filled out question naires, designed to help them decide the kind of training they desire at the time and place most convenient for them. One thing decided on was to have the first leaders' meeting the second Monday next month, Jan uary 13. This meeting is for all Brownie and Intermediate Scout leaders and assistants. The time and place will- be announced later. Sewing The Art Needlework club met with Mrs. A. V. Powell on Wed nesday. December 4. for a social afternoon of sewing and con versation. Luncheon The Klamath Falls Soroptimist club met Thursday at noon in the Pelican party room for a lunch eon meeting. Plans were an nounced for a Christmas party for the meeting next week, when a fund will be started for Girl Scouts and Camp Fire Girls. The local Soroptimist club has un dertaken the sponsoring of camperships for girls who need financial aid to attend the girls' summer camps. Guest speaker was Vern Swan sen, local artist, who now has an exhibit of paintings at Rickys Jewelers, 700 Main. A special guest at the meeting was Mrs. Marie Cone who was Mjr. Swansen's first art teacher. Mr. Swansen received a degree in art at the University of South ern California. His discussion on the heritage of the modern American artist was interestingly illustrated by prints of the various periods from the year 1250 until the present time. Layette Shower Mrs. Arthur Moore was enter- tained with a layette 'shower on Wednesday evening of this week at the home of Mrs. H. C. Gra ham of North Third street.
