Fire Engines Used During Bus Strike OKLAHOMA CITY, Dec. 13 (if) Street car and bus opera tors in this city of 250,000 failed to report for work today because of a labor dispute and city of ficials promptly pressed police and fire department vehicles into service to hul passengers. Leaders of the Amalgamated Union of Street Car Operators (AFL) said there was no strike, that members had merely voted to "stay in session" after an all night meeting at which an arbi tration board's award was con sidered. The three -man arbitration board proposed a wage boost of five cents an hour. The union had asked a boost of 20 cents an hour. The additional five cents grant ed by the board would make the scale 95 cents an hour. In addition to denial of the wage increase, the arbitration board declined to approve a closed shop. Church To Hear Alaskan The Rev. Gregory Morony of Kodiak, Alaska, will be the speaker at the 11 a. m. worship service at the Immanuel Baptist church this Sunday. During the war years Rev. Morony was of great assistance to servicemen stationed in Kodiak. The Rev. Keith Daniels of Portland will speak at the eve ning service at 7:30 p. m. He is the director of Town and Country church work of the Oregon Baptist convention. The radio program, "The Im manuel Harmony," is heard over radio station KFLW at 9:30 p. m., Sunday. Christmas Music Feature At Church Christmas music will be en joyed at First Christian church on Sunday. "Star of the East," a song of the nativity, will be sung by Mrs. Leo Epps and Phyllis Hutchins. Christmas carols will be sung at both morn ing and evening services. The pastor's sermon will be "Christ, the Heart and Life of Christianity." The evening message will be "Are We Prob lems or Part of the Answers?" Bible school meets at 9:45 a. m. with classes for all age groups. The Christmas program will be held on Sunday evening, De cember 22, followed by the choir cantata presentation. A wel come is extended to all of this community. Classified Ads Bring Results. Temporary officers for a KU Tri-Hi-Y have been appointed and will attend the meetings. This group, an affiliation of the YMCA, has proved successful in other Oregon towns. Upon their return and with the aid of Eva Burkhalter as adviser, they will organize a girls' Tri-Hi-Y in KU. At the annual American Bar Association convention In At lantic City, N. J., a cooperative corporation law committee had a place on the program for the first time, with speeches and panel discussion. Dr. Jensen was one of the four men chosen to address the nation's lawyers on the subject. At the university.
