Seattle Man Held In Death SEATTLE, .Aug. 13 P Crank Kosimlnski, 44, was held y police today without charge In connection with the fatal stab bing of Merle L. Hewitt, 29-year-old Lewis! on, Idaho, merchant seaman, yesterday. Acting Detective Capt. George Hyde said Kosimlnski, a resident of the hotel in which the stab bing occurred, had admitted that he fought with Hewitt and "must have pulled a knife." Hyde said Kosiminski said re peatedly, however: "I didn't know what I was doing. Be lieve me, I didn't know. Statements of witnesses, said Hyde, indicated the scuffle fol lowed shortly an encounter In which Hewitt knocked down Kosimlnski in a tavern after tho latter had taken Hewitt's girl companion, Lura Hellstrand, 22, for a glass of beer.
