All persons between the uges of 17 and 30 may apply for these positions, although these age limits will be waived in cane of veterans. Applicants for this examination will be re quired to take a written test, and the ratings will ur based upon how much experience is shown through each test. Columbia Salmon Pack Sets Low Mark ASTORIA. Ore., Aug. 5 (Pi The season salmon pack taken from the Columbia Is only 12. 113 cases, the lowest on record, U. S. fish and wildlife service figures showed todoy. Although August and Septem ber runs of lower quality salmon remain to be taken the total figure will be small when com pared to the 500,000 case packs common in earlier years.
