tery. All he'll say by way of
explanation is Hint it's a college
nickname from his days at the
University of Colorado in Boul

because of persuasion from an
old friend, Henry Perkins, city
attorney. Right now, he would
not dream of living anywhere
else. One thing as much a part
of "Taxi" as his nickname Is the
Sigma Chi fraternity pin which
he's rarely without. The dream
of his life Is that some day he
may have a first floor office in
stead of being in the basement.
"They always put engineers in
the basement, he laments.

crashed a guard roll near Re
mote and plunged 30 feet Into
the shallow Coqulllc river with
out overturning.
The bus with 22 passengers,
was bound for lloseburg from
Coot Hay when It left tho high
way Sunduy night.

the rear emergency door to the
river bank without getting wet
