They have been visiting with Mr. Kchinldt'i parent. Mr. and Mn. F. Hill Hunter of Lemon Grove, Calif., former residents of this city. They ar expected to arrive early next week to visit friends here. They have had an extend ed visit In Ihe south and will return to their homo from Klamath Falls. Mrs. Schmidt is the former Harriet Hunter. Mrs John Houston and son and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Igl have born spending the past week at Luke o' the Woods. Klamath Folk Deep In Summer Plans At least no one. In Kluniiilh Falls can be bored with the weather. Seems there are other people who haven't sense enough to come In out of the sun! i A new summer cabin spot has suddenly become (iiit a popu lar place. Four Klamulh turn I lies are building and remodel ing summer cottages along Spring creek. Among them are the Leslie Wrights who are spending practically every weekend there. Incidentally it's nice to see Mrs. Wright looking so well again after be ing III for so long. The Hurry llolvens are building a place there, and Mr. and Mrs. Al llackes are remodeling one. Just across the creek from the Wrights Is the summer place of the A. D. Lamberts. the two Is under way. Jerry can hardly wait until he gets a picture of her. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Chit wood have returned after visit ing relatives In Wisconsin and Arkansas. Chitwood, C'MoMM, is at the local navy recruiting office, and they spent part of his 34-day leave visiting the midwest, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M. Heck unci daughter, Betty, spent last weekend at the family cabin at Lake o' the Woods. Medford guests were Mr. and Mr. L. F. Kittle, Mrs. Heck's parents, Horace and Loula liittle, Mrs. Heck's brothers, and Jeri Con ner, Mr. and Mrs. Don Miller and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Witt. Highlighting this week' so cial affairs was the lovely wed ding of Cora Reber to James Rogers. The beautiful full length bridal veil worn by Cora was one of the first long veils chosen by a Klumath bride In quite some time. A fine dainty trim of wide rows of Irish point lace added a sieclal touch. The veil, Inrlilenlully, is an heir loom of the Reber family. It's a girl for Dr. and Mrs. Gordon F.rlundson. The little miss arrived at Wesley Me morial hospital In Chicago July 23, tipping the scales at seven pounds two ounces. Mrs. F.r inndson Is the former Adelle .umaky. The Erlundson'i new little daughter is the first grandchild of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Krlandson and also of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cizck. Word has been received from Mr. and Mrs. James Roger who are on their wedding trip in Canada. They have been spend ing most of their time In Vic toria and are staying at the Kmpress hotel there. They're expected home early next week. Mr. Howard McCamman. the little Irish bride of a Portland man," Is a newcomer to Klam ath Falls. She and her litis bund plan to make their home hero. With her friendly atti tude toward Klamath folk she's sure to feel at home. Jerry Johnson, a 12-year-old lad who sells paper for The Herald and News, Is all a-twit-ter these days from a letter he received recently after his pic ture appeared In the paper. A young misa in Arizona hud her fancy taken by the picture, and a fine correspondence between Mrs. L. Orth Siscmore and sons, Jim and Hill, have recent ly returned from visiting Mrs. Slscmore's mother In Santa Crui. Returning with her was her sister, Mrs. Delmar W. Frap pla, and son, Norman, of Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Frappla plans to remain in Klamath Falls for several weeks at the Slsemore home on Lakeshore drive. Mrs. Earl Weimar of West Klamath has as her house guest Mrs. J. A. Gordon of San Francisco. Mrs. Gordon is here for an extended visit and la a former resident of Klamath Falls. Mrs. Weimar's grand daughter, Anne Weimar Cum- mings. has returned to her home In Sacramento after spending a month at the Weimar residence. Although the regular weekly meetings of lady golfers have ended until September, Friday found a number of golfers on tho Reames course despite rain drops and threatening clouds. After a sack luncheon a mim ber of the women stayed on at the club for bridge. Mrs. Asuhcl Bush and duugh ter, Jody, arc visiting at the Martin Ramsby home, 421 N. 5th. Mrs. Bush Is a former resi dent of Klamath Falls and Is now living In Salem. Jody and Sue Ramsby have been attend ing the Camp Fire girls' camp at Lake o' the Woods. Mrs. Bush plan to return to her home next week. Picnic Party Honors Donna Burke A party in honor of Donna Tliirke, bride-elect of Tony Mola torn Jr., was a shower given by Mrs. Verne McClellan, Mrs. Jiinies Robinson und Mrs. Victor Palmer Thursday evening at the McClellan home, Oil) High. Norrie is regional executive of the national YMCA for the Pacific southwest region and is planning to leave soon for Ger many for the YMCA. He will live in Berlin where he will serve as chief of the division of youth affairs, handling all matters pertaining to youth work. One of his Jobs will be io organize youth councils in father and mother. Dr. and Mrs. N. C. Smith of Annandale, Minn., and her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Bassett of Lewistown, Mont. After spending two weeks vis iting here, they will leave Tues day. Double Ring Rites Read Thursday Eve In a double ring ceremony, read at the Community Congrega tional church of this city on Thursday evening, July 18, at 8 o'clock, Ramona Sharmane Ross, niece of Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Myers of 2020 Applegate. and Charles Finies Rawlins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rawlins of 2145 Orchard, exchanged vows in a ceremony read by the Rev. Godfrey Matthews, pastor of the church. Palms and pink and white gladioli formed a background for the service, with white tapers in silver candelabra used throughout the church. Mrs. H. S. Stone played the wedding music and Mary Stone Because and Stardust Guests at the Myrle Adams home, 430 N. 3rd, during the past week have been Mrs. Dortha Roberts and her grand daugher. Marilyn, of Wilming ton, Calif. The Roberts have been visiting friends in Port Angeles, Wash., and plan to stop in San Francisco on their return home. Mrs. Roberts is the owner of the Wilmington Press. Also visitors this past week end with Mr. and Mrs. Adams were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mc Neice of Los Angeles. They were on their way to Van couver. Hostesses will be Mary Blake, northwest publicity di rector of United Air Lines from Seattle, and one of United's chief stewardesses, Kay Morel ley. All heads of women's organi zations here are invited. strand of pearls. Her long illusion net veil, trimmed in two row of wide, delicately fashioned lace, waa held in place by a pearl tiara. Her arm bouquet was of whits stephanotis centered with two white orchids. Traditional wedding musla was played by Mr. Elbert Veatch, and Carl Hagel (ana; "Always" and "God Gave Me You." Mr. Veatch also played Schubert's "Serenade" and "Ber ceuse" from Joselyn. Mr. Dorothy Silva of Oak land, Calif., aunt of the bride, as matron of honor, wa attired in a chiffon gown of a light peach shade. In her hair ahe wore a band of matching net with a cluster of peach begon ias. Her colonial bouquet waa of rose and orange pom pom dahlias with mixed smaller flowers. Bridesmaids were Mr. Clay ton Reber, sister-in-law of ine bride,- and Mrs. Doreen Wil liams. Both wore gowns of chif fon and satin, with Mrs. Reber in pink and Mrs. Williams in blue. Their hair bands were of blue delphiniums and shattered . pink carnations, matching their gowns. Each carried a colonial nosegay of matching flowers. Best man was Tommy Wat ters, and ushers were Clayton Reber, Don Kirk pa trick, Bud West and Bob Ellingson. The Willard hotel was the scene of the reception which followed. Mr. and Mrs. Roger cut their three-tiered, decorated wedding cake. Serving and assisting at the reception were the matron of honor Mr. Silva, the brides maids, Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Reber, and the sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Harry Ra vizza and Mrs. Scott Warren. The ushers presided at th punch bowl. For their wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers chose Canada and will be gone about 10 days. On their return they will be at home in Klamath Falls. The new Mrs. Rogers is a graduate of Armstrong's Busi ness college in Berkeley. Mr. Rogers attended Oregon Stats college and during the war served as a captain In the ma rine corps. Both are member of prominent Klamath county families. ' Arrived Recently arrived here from Seattle are Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hiatt Jr., and their nine-month-old daughter, Robin Caroline. The three plan to make their home lure. At the present time they are guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rex Hiatt Sr., of 1987 Van Ness. Mrs. Hiatt is the former Bar bara Bell of this city. Mr. Hiatt has been an engineer with Boe ing aircraft for some time. sang preceding the service. The bride, entering on the arm of her uncle, A. A. Myers, wore a two-piece suit of gold with brown accessories, and her cor sage was of Talisman rosebuds and while stephanotis. She car ried a white Bible. Matron of honor was Mrs. W. T. McGhaughey, in a navy frock with white hat and acces sories, and a corsage of pink roses and stephanotis. Robert Lohrey was best man, and Cpl. William C. Myers and John Zumwalt were ushers. Mrs. Myers, the bride's aunt, was dressed in pastel blue with black accessories. Mrs. Rawlins, the groom's mother, wore a lime-green dress with white hat; both had corsages of tuber ous begonias in a coral shade. About 50 guests attended the ceremony and the reception which was held Immediately afterward in the church social hall. After the couple had cut the three-tiered wedding cake topped with miniature bride and groom under a wedding bell, H was served by Mrs. Myers and Mrs. W. O. Lohrey. Mrs. Ed Jones. the groom's cousin, poured. Tables were covered with lace cloths with sweet peas scattered over them, while mixed bouquets of summer flowers were placed about the hall. Mrs. McGhaughey was In charge of the bride's book, and Mrs. R. J. Smith and Mrs. E. L. Mitchell, assisted about the room. Immediately after the reception Mr. and Mrs. Rawlins left by car for a one-week's stay at the coast, and upon their return will be at home un til fall in the Mortimer apart ments. In September they plan to go to Flint, Mich., where he will enter the General Motors school of designing and engi neering. The bride, who has made her home in Klamath Falls for sev eral years, was a student at Klamath Union high school and the groom received his dis charge from the army air corps last winter.
