Clark, 3216 Harlan, re ported to police this morning that while he was attending the wrestling matchea at the armory laal night a prowler entered his car and stole a new tire, a uaed tube, flahlng tackle box, atccl calling rod and a bamboo pole. Mrs. Foster remained in Grass Val ley for a week lo visit with two of her sisters residing there. Eyes of rabbits have fields of vision which overlap behind the head. The first airmail letters to leave Klamath Falls on August I. the day United Air Lines flights atari, will bear a apecial cachet, marking them for that occasion. The cachet Is a small rubber stamp, produced by the float office department In Wash ngton, D. C, depicting the Up per lake Willi Mt. Pitt In the background and bearing the words "Klnmnth Fulls, U. S. air mall, first flight." Tho cachet will he uaed only on letters leaving by the first planes, one north and one south. Persona who wish to send out letters bearing this cachet are advised to send them in early, as the post office here has' to mark them and stamp them prior to loading them aboard the plane. Letters shuuld be addressed and atamped and then enclosed In another en velope. The cover will be ad dressed to the postmaster, Klam ath Falls, and stamped. Inside the cover Include your letter and a note asking the postmas ter lo hold this letter for the first plane leaving Klamath Falls on August 1. Letters mav be addressed to yourself, at the Klamulh Falls address, in which cose they will be sent to Portland, going north, or Oakland on the southern route, nnd then returned by the first piano from either of those terminals. There is no limit to the number of letters that one person may send. Collectors who wish to have letters back-stamped should send them lo the postmaster under cover, with a request that they be dropped at the first point on the route. In this case it will be Salem to the north and Oakland to the south. Letters sent In this manner must be addressed to the sender at General Delivery at Salem or Oakland, and must be sent for by the person who mailed them. The fetter thus marked will be marked on the back, with the time of arrival at the terminal. Closing time for air mall on August 1 will be 8:30, although a slightly later date is expected in the future. Burt Hawkins, Klamath post master, reminds the users of air mail that the domestic rate Is 8 cents, instead of the old rate of 6 cents. The 6-ccnt stamp may be used only when the let- j ter la addressed to a serviceman overseas. Some 1S00 letters are already on hand at the post office await-1 log the first flight, and a heavy ; deluge of mail Is expected with in the next few days. Estimates by post office officials tend to show that there will be a 100 per cent increase in the use of airmail now that the airlines go through here. An estimated average of ISO pounds of air mail daily will pass through this office, with each letter weighing an average of one-half ounce. Moat snakes have poor vision and can hardly recognize any thing standing still, but can fol low moving objects with their eyes fairly well. The naval airfield at Lake view will be formally presented to the city on an interim permit Sunday, when Lt. Cmd, Fltzriat rick, of the Klamath air station, will turn over the port to Mayor Lyle North, of Lakeview. A two-day celebration has been planned for the event, with Saturday designated as Klamath day. Weather permit ting, approximately 20 planes will fly from Klamath Falls to attend the show Saturday, leav ing here at 1 in the afternoon and arriving there around 2 o'clock. Pamphlets advertising both the centennial and Klam ath Air Day will be dropped by the flyers as they go over Lake view. The program at Lakeview for Saturday will consist mainly of registering visiting flyers. Planes are expected from ail over the state, as well as from California and Colorado. A dance will be held In the hangar Saturday night with music furnished by Hay Williams and his orchestra. Sunday's program will start at B a. m with a ground demon stration of new planes by deal ers, followed by a model plane contest at 10:30. Devaney, NAA member and director of the state board of aeronautics. An air show, featuring races, stunt flying and tricks will go on from 2:30 till 4:30, climaxed by a novel parachute Jump at the close of the show. Jack Briscoe of Lakeview, is general chair man of the occasion, and has made all arrangements. Officials from Klamath attend-' ing the Saturday show at Lake view will include among others, John Houston, Marshall Cornett and Phil Hitchcock. Oakridge Area Tracts Sold For $2,000,000 EUGENE. July 28 Oak ridge area timber tracts bought by Pope & Talbot Lumber com pany for its proposed new mill cost $2,000,000, a deed filed at tiie courthouse showed.
