Colton, ton of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Colton of Portland. The wedding date has been set for Sunday, August 11. News of the engagement was told recently at an open house at the Cox home. Arrangements of gladioli, roses and sweet peas were placed about the rooms, Centering the attractive refresh ment table was a cake which was a replica of the Portland home purchased by the young couple. Tapers and floral arrangements completed the table decorations. Napkins, coasters and match books were printed with tlie names of the two, "Cliff and Joyce." Pouring were Mrs. Clifford Clayton and Naomi Kinney, and Edna Richards. Margaret Grubb and Joanne Cox assisted about the rooms. Mr. Colton was present for the affair held during his visit from Portland. Miss Cox is a graduate of Klamath Union high school with the class of 1D4S. She has been active In Pep Peppers and Jun ior Hostesses. Mr. Colton held the rating of pharmacist mate first class In the navy and served two years in the Pacific before bring sta tioned at the Marine Barracks. Ho received his discharge In March of this year, and plans to attend the University of Ore gon Medical school in Portland where they will make their home. Stork Shower Mrs. Ralph Mundlin was guest of honor at a stork show er given on Friday evening, July 12, at the home of Mrs. Fred Nichol, 4024 Delaware. Tiny figurines centered the re freshment tabic and the color scheme was of pink and blue. Several games and contests were enjoyed during the eve ning. Mrs. Clayton Rudisill pre sided at the punch bowl and Mrs. E. L. Bentlcy assisted about the rooms. Eighty guests, nearly all of whom were mothers and daugh ters, called between two and five o'clock. On June 26, at 4 o'clock In tha alternoon In the John Timothy Stone Chanel of the Fourth Presbyterian church, Chicago, Illinois, Marlyce became Mrs. Robert lladlcy Krvin. The bride, riauKhter of Mr. and Mm. Otto Erlandson of tills city, exchanged vow with her huiband-to-be before the altar of the liny chapel which wai decked with white carnations and tall white lupors. The aervice waa read by Dr. Harrison Ray Ander son. Barrett Spach played the nuptial music, the wedding proces sional and recessional. Marlyce, given in marriage by her father, wore a charming gown of white brldnl satin with a net yoke, fitted bodice and full skirt with a short train. Her fingertip veil, borrowed from her sister-in-law, Mrs. Gordon Krlandson, fell from a little satin can. She carried a white orchid surrounded by stcphanatis on a white Bible from which fell a cascade of narrow white satin streamers. Her only Jewelry was a strand of pearls, gift from the groom. - . . . For her daughter s wedding, Mrs. Erlandson wore a long afternoon gown of aqua Jersey with a small, matching flower hat. A reception and dinner was served guests at the Drake ho- Htel following the ceremony, After a two weeks' honeymoon, the couple will spend the re- mainder of the summer at Clear I Klamath Girl Weds Wisconsin Man Wed in Sparta, Wise., on Wednesday evening, June 12, were Vera E. Ottoman of Klamath Falls and Chester D. Knudtson of Sparta. The ceremony was read by the Rev. A. E. Frederick at his home. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Ottoman. For her wedding the bride trim of small white daisies at the fingertip veil was held in place by a beaded tiara. She carried an old fashioned bouquet of mixed flowers. Attending the bride was her sister, Mrs. Blanche L. Carson of Los Angeles. She was gowned In pink taffeta with a match ing bonnet and pale blue veil. She carried an old fashioned nosegay. Best man was Gerald A. Knudtson, brother of the bride groom. Mrs. Mabel Arttus, grand Rites Solemnized Saturday Evening In a double ring ceremony read in the presence of a few close friends and relatives on Saturday evening, July 13 at eight o'clock, Mary Ruth Trulove, niece of Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Tru love. became the bride of Jack D. Bothwell, also of this city. Rites were solemnized by the Rev. David Barnett Jr., pastor of the First Presbyterian church, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mclvln McCollum of 1139 Crescent before a fireplace banked with candelabra, palms and spring flowers. The bride, given in marriage by her uncle, E. D. Trulove, wore a gown of white satin and a fingertip veil belonging to Mrs. McCollum, her matron of honor, For the traditional something old she placed a two-pence in her slipper. Something new was her strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Her wedding gown was the something bor rowed, and for something blue she carried a dainty blue hand kerchief. Mrs. McCollum, matron of honor, wore a gown of light blue chiffon and carried a bou quet of sweet peas ill pastel shades. Mr. McCollum was best man. The bride and groom cut their wedding cake at the re Ashland Affair Held By OES Lorcna McNair, worthy grand matron of Oregon, was hon ored at a reception given by the Alpha chapter one, Order of the Eastern Star, Saturday night in Ashland. The reception, held in the gymnasium of the Southern Oregon College of Education, wns also given in honor of Edna Dougherty, grand organist, and J. H. Hardy, a past grand patron. The gymnasium was decorated with a huge painting of Crater lake, flanked by large pine and fir trees. Throughout the bulld- ing were trees, sea foam, and other Oregon shrubs, Mrs. Steve Moss gave a hu morous reading accompanied by Ruby Kenyon for Aloha chap ter. There was also a program of musical numbers, readings, and responses from the guests and grand officers. Refreshments were served from a lace-covered table, dec orated with red roses. They were served by the worthy ma trons and courtesy girls of Al pha chapter of Ashland and Reamcs chapter of Mcdford. Bob and Marlyce met In Seat tle about a year and a half ago while he was attending the University of Washington and Marlyce was taking her cadet training at the naval hospital. In the fall, Bob will continue his studies at the University of Iowa, school of dentistry. For her wedding trip, the bride wore a black silk faille suit with a small black straw hat and brief veil. Her orchid was pinned to her suit Jacket. The groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs. H. H. Ervin of Rock ford, Iowa. His bride was grad uated from Klamath Union high school, attended the University of Oregon for two years where she was affiliated with Delta Gamma sorority, and later she completed nurse's training at St. Mary's hospital, Rochester, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Erlandson returned to Klamath Falls last Saturday after attending their daughter's wedding. Also pres ent for the ceremony were ur and Mrs. Gordon Erlandson of Chicago, the bride s brother ana sister-in-law. chose a gown of white net with a waist and the cap sleeves. Her mother of the groom enter tained with a reception follow ing the wedding. The bride and groom cut their wedding cake which was served to the group of close friends, and relatives attending. Following a wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells, Mr. and Mrs. Knudtson will - be at home in Sparta. For traveling Mrs. Knudtson wore a sun oi navy with white accessories. ception which followed. Hostesses were Mrs. Ruby Kenyon and Mrs. L. K. Phelps. Seven tables of bridge were in play with one table of pinochle. High in pinochle went to Mrs. O. K. Puckett, and in bridge to Mrs. Otto Konschot. Special award was given to Mrs. Calvin Hunt. A visitor here this week is Norma Gates of San Francisco, guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and - Mrs. George Gates, 1745 Lakevicw. Miss Gates was recently discharged from the Wac, after lengthy overseas service. She arrived Wednesday and will leave for San Francisco Saturday night. Mrs. Harry D. Bolvin and young son Robert returned Fri day from San Francisco where they spent several days this week. LUNCHEON AT THE PELICAN was the order of the day Tuesday for, left to right, Mrs. Robert McReynolds, Mrs. Don Wiedler, Mrs. Harry Wayne and Mrs. Jack Waggoner, Mrs. Wayne entertained for Mrs. Wiedler, a visitor from Chicago, and her two daughters, who ore residing in Klomath Falls.
