Boy Scouts
Signing Up
For Camp
Reservations for Camp Ma
kualla, the annual Boy Scout
camp on , Crescent lake, have
been completed for the first five
weeks, according to R. E. La
mott, camp director, and only
the sixth week, from August
18 to 25, remains to be filled.
Camp capacity is approximately
100 boys per week.
The camp will begin July 14,
when the first group of scouts
will arrive. An advance group
of staff members . and older
scouts are leaving for camp
Monday, July 1, for this sum
mer's season, to work on the
water system, erect tent plat
forms, remodel the waterfront,
and do various other duties
needed to prepare for the camp
opening, as well as take a staff
training program, to be present
ed by Lamolt.
Members of the group are
Earl Grahm and Delbert Yan
tis from Klamath Falls; Merle
Wiedman. Alturas: Wright Carl
ton and Lemont Wilson, Klam
ath Falls; Hugh Wilson, Tule
lake; Charles Brooner and El
mer Jarret, Lakeview, and Ken
neth Burden, Larry Standifcr,
and Jack Weiscr of Bend. This
group will be ready for the
first scouts July 14, said La
mott. The cost of the camp is S9
per week, $1 of which is pay
able as a reservation deposit.
Individual troops must arrange
for their own transportation.
One pound of sugar for each
scout is requested by the camp
committee.
Cooking will be done by Mrs.

to 11, troops 2, S, 9 and 18
from Klamath Falls, and troop
29 of Bonanza. August 11 to
18. the fifth week of camp,
will see troops 4 and 11 of
Klamath; troop 15, Macdoel;
troop 23, Bend; troop 32, Al
turas, and troop 52 of Adin,
leave for Camp Makualla.
Chiloquin Discusses
Part In Centennial
CHILOQUIN, June 29 In
terested Chiloquin residents held
a meeting at the city hall last
Tuesday evening to discuss plans
for Chiloquin's part in the com
ing South Road centennial pag
eant. Mrs. E. K. Loosley, Ken
neth McLcod Jr., and Hal Ogle
were here from Klamath Falls
to talk about the general outline
of the pageant and answer ques
tions. Mrs. Kenneth Roberts, chair
man of the local centennial com
mittee, is calling the group to
gether some time this coming
week and all interested persons
are urged to attend. Anyone will

tribute entertainment of any sort

address at the box office of the
Chiloquin theatre.

Car Reported
Stolen Here
T. W. Hammond of Link River
used car lot reported to city
police this morning that 1936
black Ford sedan was stolen
from the lot at Main and Center
some time after 9:30 last night.
The car was owned by Ruth
O. Green of 303 S. 8th. Ham
mond reported that there were
no keys in the car and not much
gas.
E. P. Foulon, 320 Martin, re
ported a hit and run log truck
sideswiped his car while it was
parked on Upham near Oregon
yesterday, extensively damaging
his left front and rear fenders.
William Maxwell, 3257 Lodi,
posted $5 bail for an appearance
in court today for having no
operator's license. Four drunks
and two vagrants were in muni
cipal court this morning, and
two drunks bailed out and nine
parking tickets were paid.

I Henri Conradi left this week
for Seattle where they plan to
visit relatives. They will spend
this weekend in Oswego with
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Powclson.
Mrs. Powclson is the former
Alice Stout of Klamath Falls.
