At a meeting held lust night In the Keno schoolhouxe It was decided to buy portuble four inch pump with a SOO-gullon per minute cupucity mounted on a trailer. Additional equipment will cost approximately $1500 und is being paid for through subscriptions made by the resi dents. Everything within a two or three miles radius of Keno will be protected by the fire equip ment, which should be ready to function within month. Youth Pleads Guilty To Charge Of Theft Richard Dennis, who gave his age as 19 and his home us Suit Lake City, pleaded guilty to the theft of an electric shaver this morning in Justice court after he was orrcsted by city police. He was sentenced to 60 days In Jull but the sentence was sus pended on Dennis' request that he may leave town imme diately and go home. Sportsmen Hold Confab At Tulelake TULELAKE, Calif., June 21 A meeting of . .the Tulelake-1 Butte Valley Sportsmen's asso ciation was held on Wednesday night, June 10, In the Tulelake Growers office In the Golden hotel, Tulelake, for election of new officers. Although the attendance was low the meeting was a success. Hen Schultz, operator of the Tulelake Boat club on the west side of the lake, and president of the association for the past five years, wus In charge of the meeting. Schultz mentioned many In teresting facts, and told of the 179 Mongolian pheasants which were planted In the Tulelake urea this season. This is a good average as there are about 40,- 000 acres In this urea that ure suituble fur pheasant raising. Tho first pheasant plantings were private. The state soon took the Job over when It was proved by some of the old timers that pheasant raising would be successful. btutistics- were given in re gard to the number of hunters and the number of birds killed the first day of duck season lust year. Of the first 200 hunters checked, the average ran one goose to every three hunters und four ducks per hunter. The check on the second day on the first 200 hunters revealed one goose to every 12 hunters and three ducks per hunter. Third Trip Planned The clubhouse, with two traps installed, is located near the highway about seven miles south of Camp Newell. Plans are being mads to Install the third trap. Due to an increase of the cost of ammunition and clay birds, a vote was taken and carried unanimously to Increase slightly the cost of shells and clay birds at the club house. The results of the election were that the following men were nominated for the offices, but announcing of the names was held over for the next meet ing which is to be held on July 3, sume place, as many members were away to the Oregon state trap shoot.
