Former Tulelalce pirl Weds Sunday, i On Sunday, April 28, it Alturas, Calif., Muriel lone McGarva, formerly of Tulclake, became the bride of Ivan Grove. Both are f Alturas. The ceremony was read at the home of the bride'i parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McGarva of 1635 East. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor Irngth gown of white satin with a sweetheart neckline. Her veil Was of fingertip length. She carried ft bouauct of spring ilowers, ' Maid of honor was Catherine Erickson of Chico, who wore a long gown of fuchsia net and carried an arm bouquet of spring flowers. ! . Best man was Clifford Grove, 1 brother of the bridegroom. I ; Traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Kathleen Bruno, and Mrs. Elizabeth Do rs ii sang "I Love You Truly." ; A few close friends and rela tives were present for the re ception which followed the ceremony. , Attending the reception, in addition to the bridal party, were Mr. and Mrs. William Cardenhirc, Mrs. Andrew Erick son, Dorothy Erickson of Chico, Mr. and Mrs. J. ' Refreshments were served to Mae Gale, Bessie Frazier, Madge Monroe, Nettie Davis, Bobbiette Gift, Betty Pepple, Christine Brown, Violet Harris, Mary Leidy, Viola Dearborn, Theresa Teare, Hazel Morrison, and the guest of honor, Mrs. Mayhard of Bridgeport, Conn., who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Babcock. Friendly Circle Entertained ' Kathryn Billings and Fannie Goddard entertained the Friendly circle at the home of the former, on the Keno high way, Thursday, June 6. Lunch eon was served to 12 members. and following the business meet ing the afternoon was spent in handwork. The club at present is completing Red Cross ditty bags, and there are still a few to be given out. i Violet Vance will entertain on June 20, and she will be assisted by her mother, Mrs. Cory. R. Mixer of that city, in a cere mony read in the Methodist church here by the Rev. Victor Phillips. The bride chose a suit of deep gold with black accessories for her wedding. Present for the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. William Walz of Ellis, Kan., Florine Shepard, and Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Withrow of Klamath Falls. Following the late afternoon ceremony, a wedding dinner was held at the Pelican cafe. Present were the bride and groom, Betty Lucille Shepard, Mr. and Mrs. William Walz. Florine Shepard, Mr. and Mrs. William Withrow, and Mrs. Clifford Kelly. Mr. and Mrs. Mixer are at home at 423 N. 1st. a Inspection The Degree of Honor held inspection Monday evening. June 10, in the KC hall with Ethel Lindholm national com- mitteewoman, inspecting De gree of Honor 108 of Klamath Falls. The hall was decorated with baskets of beautiful flowers. Ten new members, secured by Minnie Davis, state organ izer, were initiated. They are Laura Bencho, Sadie Pierce, Ruby Pence, Anne Goodwin, Ann Frances Smoot, Julia Whitby. Edna Noll, Ann Henry, Mary Hill and Laura Hilton. At the close of the meeting refreshments were served to members and guests. On Monday, June 24, the group will entertain the Degree of Honor from Medford, Bend, and Grants Pass at a no host ess banquet in the Klamath Lutheran church on Crescent at 6:30 p. m. Hostesses KENO Mrs. F. L. Stroberg and Mrs. Elmo ' Howard were hostesses on Thursday after noon, June 13, at a stork shower in honor of Mrs. Dean Augus tus. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Stroberg. Games were played alter which the guest of honor opened her gifts. A number of friends who could not be present also sent gifts. Ruth circle met at the home of Mrs. Wesley Mc Nee, 1923 Auburn, and the as sisting hostess was Mrs. Bruce Bil.kley. Fourteen attended, in cluding three guests, and Mrs. Paul Hodgo became a member of the circle at that time. The business meeting, conducted by the chairman, Mrs. J. C. Hunt, was brief, and plans were made for the picnic luncheon which Ruth and Esther circles will hold in July at the home of Mrs. Kclley. Mrs. Dexter Elliott win- ducted t h e devotional period and the study hour. Esther circle met in the church parlors with Mrs. Ruby tienyou ana Mrs. l.. a. urannan, hostesses. Dessert was served to 18 members, and Mrs. Hallo way, chairman, replacing Mrs. Gille.spie, who has moved to Portland, conducted the busi ness meeting. Mrs. E. H. BalsU ger led the devotions and Mrs. John Riach, in charge of the study hour, took as her subject, Shanghai is Dizzy" from the "World Outlook." Esther cir cle unites with Ruth circle for a picnic at Mrs. Kel ley's in July. Elizabeth Norris entertained Martha circle at her home on the Merrill highway and 14 at tended, including three guests. Mrs. L. A. Baler, circle chair man, was in charge of the busi ness meeting. Mrs. C. H. Barn stable, the devotions, and Mrs. Barnstable and Mrs. Cowman joined to give a resume of the work on Africa, just completed. All circles have now completed this study, and the new subiect will not be begun until fall. The July meeting will be at the home of Mrs. L. J. Brink with Mrs. Cy Baker assisting. Mrs. William Witnrow and Mrs. E. W. Mocabee were host esses for Mary circle which met at Mrs. Withrow's home. 227 Jefferson. Seven members were present, and Mrs. Mocabee. chairman, presided over the short business meeting. Mrs. Lee McBride was in charge of the devotions and Miriam Smyth gave me lesson, in July the circle plans to meet for a pic nic luncheon at the home of Mrs. Earl Redman.
