silver tea.
General tea chairman was Frances Balin. Hours were from 3
to 5 o'clock.

The Pelican party room was the scene of the installation
ceremony of Alpha Iota chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, na
tional businesswomen's sorority, Friday evening at 7 o'clock.
The banquet table was centered with seasonal flowers in
blue and gold, the sorority colors. Tall tapers in silver candela
bra, flanked the centerpiece.

The affair was the first tea
given by the group in three
year. For some time it was
inactive until it was recently
reorganized. Most of the mem
bers are former Commandos,
the service group formed to
benefit servicemen stationed in
this area.

Mrs. Poole, Sylvia McClellan,
and Rita Whisenant.
Picnic
A surprise party was held at
the picnic grounds of Moore
park Friday evening, June 7, at
6 o'clock. Those attending were
Phylis Hare, Faye and Dorothy
Peugh, Lois Young, Lois and
Diane Landrum, Karen Roller,
Jean Morrison, Morris and Dick
Weakley, David Patterson, and
John and Stanley McClellan.
The evening was filled with
tennis and baseball and many
other outdoor sports. Refresh

They included six telegrams,
two cards, and twenty-six let
ters. Among the greetings was
a clever card from a newly or
ganized club in Quakertown,
Pa., with the message, "From
one infant to another." The
greetings came from clubs in
eleven states, two cities in Can
ada, and Fairbanks, Alaska. -
