Hurling Br Tha Associated Pr.ss With the exception of Hurri- cane Hal Ncwhouser and Dave (Boo) Ferrlss, last year's select six of the biK league hurling brigade the ZU-Rame winners are finding it extremely difficult to regain their winning stride this year. Four of the big six the Chi cago Cubs' Hank Wyse and Hank Borowy, St. Louis Cardinals' Charlie Barrett and Washington's Roger Wolff strode to the hill in yesterday's Memorial Day doublcheaders, but only Wyse walked off with a victory under his belt. Not one of the other three succeeded in going the route. Two other big winners of J945, Cleveland's Steve Gromck (19-9) and the Cardinals' Ken Burkhart (18-8) also continued to find the going rough. Gromek Shasta Next On Schedule For Locals Continuing their northern California loop schedule after two weeks of inactivity, the Klamath Sons journey to Mt. Shasta, Calif., Sunday to take on the Mountaineers. This will be the third league baseball game for the local boys who hold decisions over McCloud and Dunsmuir. The Sons are one game behind schedule as the game here with Redding last Sun day was postponed because of inclement weather and rain. That game was then tenta tively set for yesterday after noon but was again called off because some of the Redding players could not get away from work. It will be played later in the season. The game Sunday with Mt Shasta will be the last road en gagement for the Sons for a while as the following four games on June 9, 16, 23 and 30 will be played on Recreation field. It's Clyde Carlstrom's time to take the mound for the Sons Sunday. The curveballer is one half of the Klamath pitching staff, which also includes Jim Olsen. The latter will be along side for relief duty. The team will travel to Mt. Shasta by chartered bus, leaving the Greyhound depot. 9th and Klamath, at 9 a.m.' Round trip tickets for spectators who would like to make the trip on the team bus are available at the Klamath Billiards and Pastega's store in Pelican City. Del Moro Section Ballplayers Called John Argetsinger, coaching baseball at Del Moro, asks that all boys living in the downtown, Hillside and Pacific Terrace sec tions of town and interested in playing Junior Legion baseball report to Del Moro field at 6 p. m. today.
