Air Festival At Lakeview LAKEVIEW, May 24 Avia tion enthusiasts from far and neur are Invited to attend a muiiunotli ceremony formully celebrating the grand reopening of thu Lukcvlew airport after four years of nuvy service. The event will tako place Saturduy and Sunday, July 27 and 28; however, it is expected the port will be available to civilian fliers within a few dayi. JliKhllKht ol the reopening festivities will be the presenta tion of a National Aeronautics association charter to the Lake County Aeronautic aiuiociation which, with nearly 150 mem bers, chullenites any community ol even lor kit population to dis pute its boast of being the larg est and most active aeronautic group on tho Pacific coast, out- Bide of major cities. Officials of several airlines have indicated their intentions to be present, as have private fliers from over a wide area. Among the features of the event will be an airplane show, where plane distributors will have an opportunity to demon strata their craft, a model air plane contest staged by mem bers of the Lake County Model club, a subsidiary of the aero nautic association; an air show and many other events. A dance will be held on Saturday eve ning, most of the other events taking place on Sunday. A ground school course which hus been sponsored by the Lake County association was discon tinued this week for the sum mer. Arrangements are being made, however, to continue with flight lessons for those in terested at a reduced cost to members. Dale Williums and Glen D.
