Set For Friday Night
TULELAKE, May 22 The
annual senior ball honoring the
graduating class of Tulclake
high school will be held Friday
evening, May 24, starting at 9
p. m. The affair is invitational
but all alumni arc invited to at
tend and need not present invi
tations at the door.
The ball will be held In the
high school gymnasium and
Evans' orchestra will play.
Astoria Ferry Tolls
To Remain Same
SALEM, May 22 fP) Tolls
for the Columbia river ferry at
Astoria will remain unchanged
when the state takes over the
ferry operation June 1, State
Highway Engineer R. N. Baldock
announced today.
Baldock said that as soon as
receipts exceed expenses, the
tolls will be reduced, because the
state does not have the experi
ence in ferry operations to fore
cast future receipts and costs.
He said, however, the state
would run more frequent trips.
The operation will be non-profit.
