number of affairs scheduled for
the cIiihji, according to Principal
btanley Woodruff.
First on the program is the
senior dinner arranged by Par
ent and Patron club for
Wednesduy, May 8, at 6 p. m., In
the KUHS cafeteria.
The Junior-Senior prom will
be held in Pelican court Friday,
May 10, and another social
event for senior girl only. 1 the
tea arranged by the Klamath
chapter of AAUW for Saturday
afternoon, May 11, at the home
of Mrs. Clarence Humble.
baccalaureate service will
be held Sunday, May 19, at 8
p. m In the KUHS auditorium,
the ipeaker to be announced
later.
Commencement will be held
Wednesday, May 22, at 8 p, m.
In I'i'llcan court. In keeping
with the program held last year,
there will be no formal penker
but both the valedictorian, Mary
Klnlne Griffith, and the saluta
torian, Scott White Reed, will
speak.
Schools throughout the city,
including both KUHS and the
elementary system, will close for
the summer vacation on Friday,
May 24. Schools will reconvene
on September 9, the school su
perintendent's office announced.
Harrison Johnson
Dies At- Hospital
Harrison Sidney ''Sid" John
son, all, for the past 35 years a
resident of Klamath Falls, died
at 10:10 p. m. Wednesday at
Klamath Valley hospital. Mr.
Johnson, at the time of his death,
was employed in the planing
mill at Ewauna Box company.
Two months ago Mr. Johnson
suffered a broken ankle while at
work and had been off duty ;
since that time. He was released i
from the hospital two week !
after the accident and an attack I
of pneumonia occurred. The
Johnson family resides iust i
cast of Klamath Falls. Final '
rites will not be announced by
Ward's until word comes from a
son, Dale, now with the army in
Germany. Mrs. Johnson and four :
children survive. Mr. Johnson
was a native of Asheville, N. C,
and moved to this city in 1911,
