S. army recruiting serv ice. ... ... Each branch of the service maintains technical schools, the air force alone operating over 100. The air corps offers in struction in cooking, military po lice work, B-29 engineer course and P-80 (jet-propelled) airplane and engine maintenance. The aircraft weight and bal ance course offers specialized training in principals and pro cedures for weighing planes, calculating load, loading and bal ancing and securing cargo, use of load adjusters and loading graphs and in the accomplish ment of pertinent forms. Com pletion of this course qualifies a student to a T4 grade in air transportation. ; Detailed information on any course offered now is available t the army recruiting office, post office building. Merchants Study Road Improvement . A study of the feasibility of Improvements on the present north entrance highway route into Klamath Falls will be made by a special committee of the Klamath Merchants association, it was announced by associa tion officials' today. Although the state highway department has acquired right-pf-way for a new north entrance to Klamath Falls by Alameda street, there has been some agi tation for improvements on the old north entrance which will function until the new job is done. The merchants committee will make a report which will determine whether the associa tion will urge the improvements. ' Petitions on file with the as sociation show that a large ma jority of the property owners and lease holders on Main street are opposed to one-way traffic for that street. Easter observance of the western and eastern Christian faiths coincide this year, mak ing the Holy Sepulchre site and other sacred places more crowded with worshippers than usual. Ancient Rites The ancient rites of Maundy Thursday began at daybreak and will continue all day as sect after sect stages its inter pretation of the events of the day on which Christ led disci ples into the "upper room" for "the Last Supper." There were virtually no American uniforms to be seen and only occasionally one of the other allies, who formerly had made Jerusalem a popular furlough spot. TB Teett Tuberculosis tests were sched uled to be given to Juniors and seniors next Tuesday, These tests are given every year by Dr. Peter H. Hoiendul, public health director. Students taking these tests must bring consent slips from their parents. These slips will be given to the kids Mon day in home room and must be brought back Tuesday. Positive reaction tests in stu dents will require an X-ray. Stu dents with positive reactions lust year need not be re-tested but will be re-X-rayed. And Incidentally A large number of KUHS boys were absent from school yester day and today as they were in Portland taking physical exami nations for military service. The student council is still working on the Memorial pliique of KUHS boys killed in the last war. A committee is now inves tigating a suitable place to put the plaque. This year the committee consisted of 14 members, but the original committee was composed of only nine. The TAC committee has decided to lower the number to nine again with a 10th member, the KUHS student body presi dent.
