Keep on the job, get At for every pound. m&e'ssoap KEEP TURNING IN USED FATS TO HaP MAKE MORE SOAP IVAYill Talk New Contract PORTLAND, March 18 W) Representatives of the CIO Inter national woodworkers of Amer ica and fir operators will discuss industry-wide negotiations of a new contract at conferences here tomorrow. H. D. Weaver, secretary man agcr of the lumbermen's indus' trial relations committee, re ported the industry-wide feature of the contract now being nego tiated would be discussed, but said progress was stalled in a dispute over status of the ter mination order of February can celling contracts expiring April 1. Clears Way Weaver said the cancellation cleared the way for negotiations to eliminate wartime clauses. He said, however, the "union claims the contracts are nullified as of April 1 and the employers claim the contracts continue in force and effect after April 1, so long as the parties remain in negotia tion." Union President James W. Fadling said the IWA wanted the cancelled contract reinstated .during negotiations and accused the operators of refusing to dis cuss the contract within the time limit set. Tomorrow's meetings will be with the Willamette Valley Op erators' association, the Oregon Coast Operators' association and the industrial relations committee. March 18 IPs One of a series of chamber of commerce tours of Oregon areas will be made by Portland busi nessmen in .Lane county on Thursday. Chester A. Moore, president of the Portland chamber of com merce, said the group would have lunch at Eugene with the cnamoer ol commerce there and inspect industrial plants in the afternoon. Boy Scouts To Hold Camporee The Boy Scout rendezvous, the first council-wide camporee in the history of the local coun cil, will be held May 9, 10 and 11, according to an announce ment by the local scout office. The camporee will be held at the Lava Beds national monu ment, beginning at 4 p. m. Fri day, May 9, and ending with lunch, the following Sunday. Camping will be done by pa trols, and leaders are urged to get the boys in their troops in practice. There will be recogni tion for the most proficient pa trol. R. A. Lamott, local executive, hopes to have 500 boys signed up for the excursion. There will be a participation badge for ev ery scout who attends. No canned food except milk and fish will be used, and no prepared bread may be taken along. Vets May Enroll At Flight School PORTLAND, March 18 (A1) Veterans will be able to enroll at Western Skyways flight train. ing school at the Portland-Trout-dale field under the GI bill of rights, the Veterans Administra tion announced today. Col. Earle R. Seurles, acting regional VA manager, said both ground and flight training would be included in the arrangements, the first in the area with a purely aviation school.
