February Said Coldest Month February 1948 was the cold tit since 1939 In Klamath basin when mean recorded was 31.2 degrees which is 1.9 degrees below normal lor the month. Mean for February 1939 was 29.6 degrees. Lowest temperature was re corded on the 8th when the mercury dropped to five above rero. February 23 was the warmest day when 56 was re corded. There were four days In which the maximum tem perature was 32 degrees above zero or lower and 26 days with a minimum of freezing or low er. Total precipitation for the month was 1.19 inches which is 0.30 of an inch below normal. For February 1945 it was 1.84 inches and in 1944, 0.98 inches. The greatest amount recorded for any 24-hour period occurred on the 6th when .31 inch was measured. There were five clear days, 10 partly cloudy and 13 cloudy days during the month. Dog License Deadline Up Beginning today, all dogs without licenses picked up in town are headed for the city doc pound, the poundmaster has declared, and a $1 recov ery fee will be charged own ers. March 1 was the deadline for dog licenses, and now a SI J tensity is being charged for ate buyers t the county clerk's office. Licenses cost $1.50 for males and $2.50 for females. Over $800 worth of permits, were sold the last day before ttie penalty went on. Klamath Youth Injured In Fall A crash through a trap door at the Masonic temple Thursday night resulted in a fractured wrist for Bill Southwell, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Southwell, 1147 Pacific Ter race. Bill was at DeMolay meeting when the accident occurred. He fell five feet and his father took him to a doctor where he was fitted with a splint. Brissenden Takes Reclamation Post C. E. Brissenden, formei marine maior. has taken a posi tion with the U. S. bureau of I reclamation, Klamath Falls of fice as land use specialist. Before entering the service Brissenden was employed with the farm security office in Klamath Falls in 1940. He was in the service five years, going on inactive service Feb ruary 15, 1946. Community Chest Group Will Meet The Klamath Community Chest association will meet Mon ' day night at 8 o'clock in the chamber of commerce building for reorganization which will itart on a local level.
